Definitely better than book one. Nice action, and good character development in this one. Plan to keep reading...

The second book continues right after the first and introduces new characters into the story. The ending is a bit deux ex machina but you have to take this whole series with a grain of salt. It is an easy book to read through for the fun of it.

Great book, great characters in a very different world.

Eh. Good, but not great. Certainly not as good as "The Remaining". It seemed the story developed rather quickly the first half of the book and was quite engaging. Then, it suddenly halted and hung on one scene for 100 pages at the hospital. I was really ready for the story to progress. There also seemed to be less of the infected this time and more dealings with uncivilized survivors. Basically, a post-apocalyptical, good guys vs. bad guys story, with a few zombies thrown in for extra thrill. With a lot of cussing and slow-paced development, I don't recommend this sequel to what was an excellent start to this trilogy.

Same basic review of book 1:
This book is great. If you are into zombie lit, this series is a must. The story line and universe definitely deserve 5 stars. I had only a couple of issues with plot twists and near deaths that probably should have been real deaths, but by all means do yourself a favor and read this one. The Remaining follows a male protagonist after the world has fallen apart. He was part of a special team put together by the US government that was instructed to hide in bunkers while the world fell apart, then re-emerge and establish stable government. Cool plot, great characters, believable and creative twists. Great action.

Fast paced post apocalyptic thriller. I enjoyed both books so far in the series because of its realism. By realism, I mean that nothing goes to plan. That makes is more accessible to me at least. I also enjoyed an overall theme and plot line connecting the books so far, hopefully that lasts over the whole series. It's a good fun escapist read.

Second in Molles' Remaining series. Enjoyed the action and the plot advancement, but gave this lower marks due to lack of editing. This installment had more than its share of missing words, misspellings, and incorrect usages - enough to distract.

Awesome book. Way better than the 1st one. The betrayal was surprising and intelligently placed. I would recommend this book to anyone

What a big ball of "eh" this series is developing into. I found myself scanning and not really reading. I want to know what happens, but don't want to dedicate that much time to finding out. Eh, eh, eh.
