(audiobook) okay idk neither of the main characters are that likable and esp not the guy so I was kind of like why does she love him so bad??? Felt like there was kind of a weird power imbalance that was not adequately addressed and the end seems out of nowhere and rushed. Also hate when plot hinges on lack of/miscommunication and some things were just like ……did that have to happen

I really enjoyed the storyline. The reason that I rated it three stars is because there was a lot a fluff. One minute they’re together the next second they aren’t. It got annoying after a while. Overall, great character development and plot.

I honestly still don't know what Kaliya looks like. I lost count of the amount of times the author described Danny's golden hair and green eyes. Every time she did it, I rolled my eyes. Their love story felt so anticlimactic and lackluster.. I was like, just break up already and stay broken up LOL. I didn't feel the chemistry or the spark between the two, and I just feel like they were bonded only because of tragedy. I bought this book because I wanted to be familiar with the author before reading her new novel... now I don't know if I'm up to the new one

I really liked this book but not as a romance. I liked the MC’s lore and learning about her struggle as a 20 something stuck in a rut. Honestly, the entire book could have been about her finding her way and it would be perfect. The romance aspect was nice but not needed. I didn’t think they were equally yoked regardless of how well meaning. And I think the MC deserved better. They never quite found their back to each other in a healthy way, so I could have gone without it.
