Very cute, fast read. Loved both characters, only wish the book was longer so their story could have been developed more.

This gem was in my amazing book box from @saxonjameswrites and it was so worth it!!! Reading about Charles’ dads, the secrecy, the chemistry… so good! Dash and Archie are drawn to each other and Archie’s possessiveness was chef’s kiss!
Reasons I Recommend:
1) Archie’s possessiveness despite his secrets
2) Dash falling hard and risking his heart and
3) That showdown in the dining room!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is a novella following Charles’s dads who you meet in Frat Wars #3. Definitely should read in order.
Dash is loving life in college. He sees Archie and is instantly attracted to him which isn’t a good thing because Archie is “straight”.
Archie has kept his true self locked up tight because of his extremely homophobic father. He has a girlfriend that he knows he’ll be expected to marry one day. He’s going to be a lawyer and he’ll never admit to anyone that he’s gay. His whole life has been planned out. He’s committed to living his life unhappily to not disappoint his father. Until he sees an impromptu strip dance from Dash.
He can’t resist him. Can’t stay away. There is a jealous possessive need Archie feels to steal Dash away and keep him. Dash is light and good and the fun that Archie desperately craves in his life.
They agree to a friends with benefits situation. It works for a while until they both start developing feelings. Dash keeps making jokes about it to save himself from the inevitable heartache because he knows Archie will always stay closeted. They make a plan to keep it up until their summer break however after getting caught by his (ex) girlfriend in the stacks, Dash calls it quits. Archie goes back home for the break, with his girlfriend, and at family dinner realizes this would be his life.
This was such a cute novella. Easy quick read. I was so sad that Archie felt he had no choice. I’m glad he was able to find someone who loved him for himself to help him realize love shouldn’t come with stipulations.

I read this because I love the frat wars books, specifically presidential chaos. I read it in a little over 24 hours, so clearly I guess I didn’t hate it that much. I’ve been struggling with the author recently and was hoping that returning to a new book in an old favorite series would help. Ultimately, I think my time with this author has passed. I’m looking for more heart and depth, less contrived feelings and drama. This wasn’t bad, but half an hour after reading it, I don’t really have many thoughts on it. I liked reading about characters kind of right on the cusp of the gay rights movement making big strides, and I think it put an interesting, different pressure on this MC not wanting to come out, as opposed to more modern MCs who want to remain closeted. Their relationship got serious, fast, and without a lot of on page explanation for what drove that change in their feelings. I know it’s a novella, so page space is limited, but I do feel like we got cheated out of reading about some of the best parts of their romance
