I honestly didn't hate it but I also had no idea what was going on for half the book? I'm not sure if the format is better printed, but there aren't chapters in the ebook and I had a very difficult time following the different perspectives of the chatacters. I'm genuinely a bit lost but also fully planning to read the next book?

This was so cute! It also made me laugh out loud a few times, which I always appreciate. The pacing was impressive, it never dragged or felt rushed, and considering it was only 106 pages that's great. Trillin and Sian were really good characters with very distinct voices, I'm happy to know there's already a sequel.

This is harsh, but it wasn’t a great read. I pushed through for the wlw and was thinking about reading the sequel but I can’t honestly do it. I did actually enjoy the premise, the sci-fi, fantasy and horror elements presented were very cool ideas.
Cute quick read. But too much was trying to happen in too few pages otherwise the rating would be higher.

Its exactly what you imagine, a sapphic monster romance, between a creature of the endless void and a scientist - sorcerer who was extra curious about the void.
I was so excited to read this book, and it was such a disappointment, I wanted to give it a price for the biggest plot holes of the whole wide void, while its an interesting story and the beginning with the void is absorbing, the jump the author gives to bring the romance to the soup was so big I am honestly worried about her knees.
I'm honestly sad, cannot recommend this book.

Sian is a witch who, as research for a university paper, is exploring an alternate universe which is home to a destructive entity which has been making incursions on her own universe. In this strange place she meets a strange - but friendly and sexy - monster, and they are quickly infatuated with each other.
The novella raises so many questions that go unanswered, and it doesn't do itself any favors by making the alternate universe (and the monster) so very alien, made of stuff that continually changes. I found it difficult to visualize, especially when the text keeps reminding me there's this character whose colors, shape, texture, and number of eyes is different from one moment to the next.
But if you can suspend your disbelief and just enjoy the story, there's a lot to enjoy here: two very different people trying to understand each other and falling in love along the way. The writing is at its best when the two of them are figuring things out together. If the stakes weren't so high, if there weren't a sense that their actions might have brought doom upon Earth, this could be a really fun cozy romance.

This is soooo cute! I couldn't ask for a better sapphic romance novella.
I feel like Trillin's struggles to be a person really give me a new way to relate to my own journey.
