Had a good time with this one. Loved Andrew and Jamie and their relationship, their chemistry and banter carried the emotional core of the book.
Even though I loved the characters I felt like there were some plotting and pacing issues with the story. A lot of things feel random and come and go without too much consequence. They spend half the book getting to Alexandria and DC but when they arrive it doesn’t leave much of an impact on the overall plot (but we do get a nice character moment for Andrew). It just feels a bit scattered. We get a major side character and an antagonist in the last 100 pages and they’re taken out of the story pretty unceremoniously. Pretty weird.
Anyways, don’t want to sound so negative because I really did enjoy it, but I just wanted a little more!

Cute queer post apocalyptic. Kinda weird pacing though at times, wasn't able to get too too emotionally attached to characters.
Such a good light read. I love a bit of an apocalyptic story and this was so good. It flowed well and made you want to keep reading to find out what was going to happen next on the journey.
The two main characters Jamie and Andrew were so good especially with the banter that happened. They happened to stumble upon each other when they thought there was so no one left and watching their friendship form was so lovely to see. Great to have a book that has queer representation in as well which I’ve not really read much of.
I’d definitely give this a read if you want a nice easy storyline or palette cleanser. I’d love to read more by this author
