So, the only fault I actually found in this book was the fact that they labeled it for YA.
If I picked this book up and read it, not knowing for what age group, I would have guessed children to young middle schoolers.
However, I'm not going to say the book was awful because its targeted audience was wrong, no, in fact, this book was VERY wonderful.
I absolutely loved the story and changes of point of view. It was extremely charming and tasteful in my opinion.
I fell in love with the characters and found my heart racing, getting to excited to put the book down.
Although it's not for an older group, I loved this book.
It will certainly be a book that I'll read to my future kids.

This book wasn't really for me. I'm a huge Jodi Picoult fan, and have all her books but avoided this because I thought it sounded too childish for my liking, and I was right. I think it would be a good book for teens and fantasy lovers, but was just a bit too juvenile and boring for me. Interesting idea for a book though.

I was prepared to be underwhelmed by this book but will say that it surprised me in a nice way. It was in some ways comfortingly predictable but in other ways unique in thought and twists that were added. The characters are not as deeply developed as I would have preferred but I may be holding this YA book up to adult level expectations. I really would have given this 3.5 stars if I could figure out how to give 1/2 stars :)

It's official. I'm in a reading rut. Maybe this book wouldn't have seemed quite so bad if I hadn't read several 2 star books before it.

However, I found the writing simple and the characters bland. The plot seemed to be going no where. I was very bored and dreaded picking up this book. After 130 pages, I decided to call it a day. And you know what? I don't have the slightest desire to flip to the end to see how everything turned out. I simply don't care.

To give the authors credit, I think preteens might enjoy this one. Although I can't rate it for content as I have not finished reading this book.

wasnt a fan of the way the ending was resolved; it was just too random and didn’t feel realistic enough in terms of the lore already in the book idk

Sadly a waste of my time. I just could not get into this one. I still finished it, but I had to force myself to. I often enjoy Jodi Picoult and I understand she wrote this with her teen daughter as a teen title, but... Long story short, skip it.
