Romance stories with autistic MCs have a special place in my heart, and I really enjoyed this book! The only reason I didn't give it a full five stars is because of the writing style, which I found a tiny bit lacking.
I love when people's identities are stated clearly and not just alluded at, but in this case they felt like they were just explained for the reader's sake instead of shown.

I did a combo of listening to this as an audiobook and reading my physical copy, and it was about 5.5 hours or 179 pages long.

This novella is an enemies to lovers, holiday workplace romance, with a sprinkle of secret identity/online romance.

One aspect of this book that I really liked with the inclusion of characters with hidden disabilities. Gabriela has autism, and this is where I think Chloe explained it rather well, especially for people who have either no knowledge to a very little understanding of different types issues people with autism spectrum disorder have and how they vary or can be specific to the person.

At the same time, Jonathan has diabetes and wears a glucose monitor. So, after the pair finally become comfortable and open up to one another, he goes into more detail about what living with diabetes means for him. The moment in the book where Gabriela and Jonathan realize they trust each other enough to finally disclose their disabilities is really sweet.

I would say that the first 90% of the book is all build up and sexual tension, whereas the last 10% is where all the spice happens. That being said, the spice was spicy, and was written very well.

For my ratings, I would give this book

A steamy Christmas romance set in a struggling bookstore! You had me at hello. Gabriella Di Natale (Gabby) loves the holidays and the bookstore where she works. She is neurodivergent (as is the author) and it's fun to read from a different perspective from someone who knows that well. Jonathan Frost hates the holidays and seems to think of only the financial side of the bookstore that he is also trying to save. Can these people who think so differently ever be friends, or more? This was a fun audio book to listen to. If you like romances, this one is full of holiday cheer and while it follows the enemies to lovers trope, the characters are complex enough to keep things interesting and fresh.

Re-Read 2025
Still freaking amazing

I just missed this book and wanted to read it again ...

Oh my heart is so fckn happy 😭✨

The serene magic, the love, the sheer breathless quality this book has made me so so so sensitive to the emotions in this beautiful tale.

A novella that deserves all the love and hugs, I absolutely adored this book very much. The hating game vibe is quite strong but as the story progresses along I can start to see just how well the author has woven the tale into such a heartwarming story.

Oh my heart, I am pretty sure it's going to be a reread soon !! I absolutely adored the leads. From such fabulous characters who are characterized around disabilities and different spectrums I didn't expect the book to be so detailed and intricately carved out.

I actually learnt quite a lot of stuff from this book and for that I'm definitely thankful. The leads Mr Frost and Gabby stole my tender heart and they will always have a special place in there.

The prickly souls but still when they came through with all that face to face talking and the dirty but sweet sweet sexual tension, it just all fit so well in the story.

I'm pretty sure, I'll be checking out more book by this author. I loved this !!!
The writing and the book references are so on point that a tear just rolled outta my eye at the very last chapter 🙂💕

So I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a sweeeeet, lovely, sweetly steamy, fabulously cute and definitely sarcastically fun romance book
