obsessed with grayson, but i also really loved maddie too

The nickname calling EVERY TWO SECONDSSSSS was sooo infuriatinngggg omg
Idk why I do this to myself, this series is soo bad but soooo entertaining loool

I gotta say the ending in this one was a bit better, and the story between the two MCs was better too. But overall the story was similar honestly, same stiff happen to both couples + the personalities as the very similar as well

This just wasn't for me unfortunately. There were some good spicy scenes, but ultimately it was lacking in plot and build-up between the characters which made it fall a little flat for me.

Thank you so much to Kensington Publishing for the ARC via NetGalley and for giving me the opportunity to share my honest thoughts on this book.

if it wasn’t this long (!) and if we didn’t have an the pregnancy trope (not a hater just sometimes it’s unnecessary) it could’ve been a 5 stars read.

I liked the mafia setting and that we got more insight than in the first book. the whole frankie situation was an amusing plot twist.

loved grayson being unapologetic about his “lifestyle” and his feelings for maddie.

maddie is a very loveable character. she finally stood up for herself and accepted that a villain is better than a prince charming could ever be.
I liked the fact that she didn’t try to change grayson.

loved them as a couple. passionate, lots of chemistry and obsessed with each other.

again I just wish the book wasn’t dragged out. we could’ve had a perfectly good story with 100 pages less. it’s the reason it took me days to finish.

The second book in the Beneath the Mask series. Maddie and Grayson’s story is an amazing enemies to lovers dark romance. Grayson has trust issues, being cheated on etc but Maddie became the light in his darkness. They fought their attraction until they couldn't anymore and I loved watching their story unfold.

I suck at rating by stars cuz it depends on the mood I’m in. I would say I wasn’t itching in my bones to finish it but it was good overall. Hmm I guess I could’ve gone with a lower rating.

tbh i had a lot more hope for this book because i loved the first one so much. the characters in this one were still great and i liked their chemistry. it is as more the timeline and storytelling i didn’t like. it felt very rushed and kind of all over and just kept taking me out of the story because of that. plus the big *peak* seemed random and didn’t make much sense story wise. like i wasn’t really ever worried for mfc and it was this odd feeling of “i think you want the reader worried like the mmc is but maybe you only want the mmc worried idk”. i am still going to read the third book when it comes out but hoping it’s better

Think I have fell in love with Grayson ! He is the book boyfriend you dream of, grumpy , romantic , handsome and would kill anyone for touching you. Loved book one with Si & Keller but this topped that one ! Now to read number 3 ❤️
