A bit pretentious in its diction and a slog to read. The story had a lot of potential and some parts were genuinely great, but some sequences and the ending was a bit cheap. For such a short book this felt very drawn out, and tried to fit way too much story into a small novel. Classic, yes, but not worthy of the Great American Novel.

I enjoyed this story more and more the further I got into it! The concept is just so interesting and even though it isn’t very plot-heavy, it has such a beautiful hidden meaning.
