A second book that I liked a little less than the previous one ...
I was eagerly awaiting the book with Genevieve (even though I was a little hesitant because I preferred her sister in the previous one) ... And I was a little disappointed ><
After the first book, so original and thrilling, I expected something just as enchanting in this one, but I found the story with Knox's game to be a pale copy of Enchantra (and the plot was more confusing and too fast-paced towards the end) ... And I liked Genevieve less (especially at the beginning for all her decisions that were far from intelligent ... And I also found her very immature ?)
On the other hand, I loved Rowin and her family who both enchanted and broke my heart, and I loved all the descriptions of clothes, characters, and places <3
In short, a romance with a touch of horror and gothic that I enjoyed even though I preferred the first book and it wasn't a favorite ! I have a feeling there's going to be a sequel, and I hope one with the other members of the Silver family !

It was super engaging and exciting. I especially loved how the different games were described — it was so easy to picture everything happening in my head like I was actually there. And the twists?? Especially towards the end?? Mind. Blown.
Genevieve completely stole the show for me — she’s a queen, period. And Rowin?? Ugh, their banter, their slow-burn romance, the secrets, the lies, the truths unraveling between them… it was just chef’s kiss. I loved how broody Rowin was from the beginning and how little by little, he started opening up. Meanwhile, Genevieve being her impulsive, blunt self made them the perfect chaotic match I didn’t know I needed.
It’s dark fantasy, so expect some gore, blood, and spice — but honestly, it was all woven in so well that it never felt overwhelming. It’s dark, it’s gritty, it’s beautiful in a twisted kind of way. It was straightforward but so immersive. Even though the story isn’t told in the first-person, I found it so much easier to read and get lost in compared to Phantasma.
There are so many moments I loved, but I have to say, there’s this super cute scene involving flower crowns that made me grin like a fool — and a very memorable enchanted room scene that… yeah, it lives rent-free in my head. Oh, and that letter towards the end?? Let’s just say I cried. Hard.
10/10 would re-read!!!
