Amazing book. I would recommend this to anyone. It's a quick, fascinating read that's packed with information.

Patiko.

What an epic adventure (and at 560 pages, I do mean epic).

This book is extremely readable, never a dull moment, and it was interesting to see how Charrière's experiences changed him as a person. The strokes of luck this guy had are crazy; but his rather matter-of-fact recounting of horrific encounters makes for compelling reading. I enjoyed how he never bigs himself up; he's not claiming to be anyone particularly special nor even a great writer, but there were some observations in this book that I found quite thought-provoking.

I know that the authenticity of the events described in this book has been questioned, but as the author himself maintained that they are true, I'm happy putting this under 'non-fiction'.

Crazy story, I remember watching the movie a long time ago. About resilience and courage and cunning

It was like an adventure story. If just the half of it is true, still unbelievable. I could not sympathize with the writer all over but I can understand. It is one of the books to be read once in a lifetime.

It may just be the most sickening book i've ever read.
Some scenes are just drilled into my mind sending shudders down my spine, and nausea in my stomach just remembering them.
I understand that the book is about freedom and retribution, but it doesn't have to be so harsh. Never again will I read any of this author's books
