Holy cow! I did not know what to expect when I started Someday, but this was so not what I was expecting. Willow Aster has always been a warm fuzzy author for me, but to see her tackling some of these heavier topics almost brought me to tears.

My heart completely broke for Sofie! She leaves Landmark suddenly not long before her and Theo are supposed to go to college. No warning. No call. Just a note on the car and no looking back. At least that's what Theo started to believe. But when she come back after her dad dies, there might have been more to her leaving then either of them realize. But she is determined to make up for lost time, but Theo needs to be the one to forgive.

I will start this by saying, I do not know if this book is for everyone. Please read the trigger warnings first because there is some heavy topics covered and they can be a lot to process. Some scenes are still living in my head days later! But it makes me love the Landmark family even more, how welcoming and open they are and how their love is so unconditional!

All the warm, fuzzy boxes are checked. The spice is definitely spicing! And the happy ending is there and ready! Plus it is a great lead to book 3!

Someday is the second book in the Landmark Mountain series, but it can be read as a standalone. Some of the content may be triggering, so make sure to check the content warnings.

I honestly have mixed feelings about this book. It’s a second chance romance between Sofie and Theo who were childhood friends to lovers until she left after high school. They had been apart for eight years before she returned home after the death of her father.

Sofie is still in love with Theo as she has never stopped loving him. She just wants to be in his life again, even if it’s not as anything more than friends. But because of the way she just left, she’s not exactly welcomed back with open arms.

Theo is upset that Sofie is back and trying to be in his life. He claims that he loved her so much that when she left, it left him with a broken heart. He’s not very kind to her nor does he trust what she says.

A small spoiler, but when they were apart, Theo pretty much instantly jumped into bed with another woman. And he continued to sleep around while Sofie was celibate the entire time. If there’s anything I hate about second chance romances, it’s that. It just doesn’t seem like the hero truly loved the heroine, especially with how quickly Theo slept with someone else.

Also, it was pretty obvious that Sofie was battling some sort of trauma with her reaction to being back in her old home. And when it was revealed, it was heartbreaking. She finally opened up to Theo and he was shocked and apologetic for not realizing what had happened…BUT he still had that flicker of doubt about her staying. I mean, it’s like he didn’t even care about how hard it was for her to be there.

This was an emotional story full of heartache and healing. I didn’t like Theo’s character, but I really felt for Sofie. This may not have been my favorite, but it is still a great story.

The tension!! Second chance romances have grown on me so much lately. I really enjoyed this one because it’s childhood friends to lovers that everyone knew would end up together, expect she ends up leaving unexpectedly. The reason she left and took so long to come back is a good reason but a heavy one so please check the content warnings.

You can tell these characters are perfect for each other. The flashbacks that were added made the story even better and I really liked there wasn’t a breakup because these two had already been through a lot. Some people may think things shift to quick almost picking up right where they left off, but I think the timing of how things happened for them makes sense. No need for them to waste anymore time apart after 8 years when they know they’re going to end up together.

I'm in awe of Willow Aster's writing. She creates the most powerful and beautiful stories, with relatable characters who face real issues with utter care and grace. Once again, with Someday, she took me on an emotional journey that I can't stop thinking about. Did it make me cry and hold my breath? Yes. Would I change anything from it? No, this is my favorite type of read.

Theo and Sophie were childhood best friends turned sweethearts. Until right after graduation, when Sophie left Landmark, leaving Theo with a broken heart. Eight years later, she is back in town after her father's death. Their first encounter is far from swoony. Theo resents her and wastes no time letting her know.

But these two are meant to be; they always have. Their connection is still there, despite the pain and the secrets from their pasts. Sophie is not the scared young woman she once was and is almost ready, to tell the truth, even if it means breaking her never-fully healed heart.

There are no two more perfect characters for each other than Sophie and Theo. I feel privileged to have read their story, even with the heartbreaking parts, because it felt real and honest. Their journey is intense as trust must be regained, and the past must be faced. As if these two weren't enough, the wonderful Landmark family was the cherry on top. What a wonderful small town and crowd to get lost in!

Everything was resolved by 50% and then the second half of the book was just them having sex and saying I love you???? ok boring

Absolutely loved this book! There is so much heartbreak and healing throughout! I dunno what it is about guys from small town life called Theo but I love them! Theo had his heart broken by Sofie but as soon as he learnt her reason behind her leaving he was so supportive and caring towards her you couldnt not melt by his actions! Sofie is incredibly strong for everything she went through and survived and she needed someone like Theo to be there for her! I'm excited to see what happened between Marlow and Wyatt at the doctors appointment in the next book!

Someday is book 2 in the Landmark Mountain series (standalone) and follows Theo and Sofie. Willow hit it out of the park with this emotional second-chance romance. Believe me, you'll need to bring the tissues out for this one.

Theo and Sofie were childhood sweethearts. Like all-consuming, "we are getting married after college" love. But then suddenly, Sofie leaves town with basically no trace leaving behind nothing but a note and Theo's broken heart. Eight years go by and Sofie is back in town after the death of her father. But guess who never left...

At first, the resentment between Theo and Sofie makes tensions incredibly high and uncomfortable. This are intense. Sofie is dealing with her dark past being back in her hometown and she is so desperate to reconnect with Theo, the man she never stopped loving. Only Theo is over Sofie's sh*t. He's angry and hurt (rightfully so) and was under the impression that they could conquer anything as long as they were together. But of course, those feelings for Sofie are still there. Only this time, he is not acting on anything until he has some answers.

Agh! This book was wonderful. The lead up and anticipation between Sofie and Theo rekindling their relationship drove me up the wall (in the best way possible). I cried and giggled and cried some more.

An absolute WONDERFUL second installment of the Landmark Mountain series by Willow and I cannot wait to see where she takes this series next!
