The Zahir, or The story of an author that is not only sexist, but refuses to shut up about how fucking famous and successful he is, like he won't shut up about how many languages his books have been translated into, how misunderstood his genius is by the critics who are all miserable, failed little shits, and refuses to shut up about the number of women that wish to fuck him.
Surprised his wife didn't leave him sooner.

I gave it 3 stars even tho i liked the main story But it took me so long to finish it cause i sometimes got lost in the middle, even bored in the some chapters.
On the other hand i liked the same spirituality which shows Paulo Coelho's style and i liked the close to reality experience.

Coelho has a magic way with words. I enjoyed the writing in this book and read it in just two sittings, which is rare and difficult for me. I can't say the same for the story. Maybe it was because the character I found most intriguing, the wife, made such brief appearances in the work. It also seemed like a plot I've read a million times. Overall this was a wonderful book. It just wasn't quite up to the standards of come to expect from one of my favorite authors.
I am not sure how but Paulo Coelho has an unparalleled ability to delve within the very core of the human condition and convey what seem like extremely abstract emotions and feelings in his books. I often have to just put down the book for a moment and reflect on how profound some of the lines are. I would easily recommend this book to anyone.
I love Coelho's books. As with his other writings, the messages are not always clear at first but they slowly start making sense as you progress through the book. It certainly gives you a lot to think about even long after you read the last page.
Of course it would be easy to sum it up saying the book is about love but for me it was much more interesting to read about how we are all following unwritten rules of society. These rules were established a long time ago but we don't know when exactly or whose idea they were, yet we all feel obliged to follow them.
I'm certainly looking forward to my next read by Coelho.

Kind of helped me sail through some difficult situations. Good read, according to me.
The first question that comes to mind when reading this book is what does the title mean? Well you won't be able to pin it down unless you attempt to check the book. But Here is a brief definition at least my understanding of the word "zahir" ; it's the feeling of something or someone's presence that occupies our full attention and we're unable to think of something else, I like to compare it to one's urgent need to go to the Lavatory and he/ she get cought up in a conversation that he can not under any circumstances end it or be excused so he can never consontrate on what's going on and can never get the physical need out of his mind, thus leading to madness or holiness (sorry for the comparison but it's quite accurate hhhhhhh)
This book tells the story of a man who wakes up one day to find his wife (Esther) has gone missing and he doesn't have the slightest clue on where the hell did she go. He deduced that she run away with another man whose name is (Mikhail).
After 2 years, he meets Mikhail at his book signing and invites him over dinner as a gift for his last fan who waitd in the line for his autograph. Then the two men get together and he (the narrator) asks him where is (Esther). Mikhail has visions of a little girl and her voice who tells him to help others find love of the world or sth.
Mikhail offers to tell him where is she if he can succed to understand why she decided to leave him without a word and to teach him about (the energy of the universe and the love that needs to circulate again freely in the world).
I'm sure u can read all this on any google page, but there are certain questions in the book you can't understand unless you've read the book like the question (Why railway tracks have the same distance between them since the Roman time? Why marriage with a set of railway tracks stay together forever but fail to come any closer?)
Also through out the book you learn about the culture and traditions of the steppes of Kazakhistan. and a lot more.
Honestly I can't say I LOVED this book as the others by P.C I have read so far but it was an Ok book and I'm gonna give it 2.5/5 stars.
But do check it out and let me know what do you thought of it.
