This was definitely one of my favourite books. The wat Haig speaks about mental illness is really accurate and true and shows it's backed up by his own experiences. This really helped with my anxiety and it was an amazing read!

Not as good as Reasons To Stay Alive but a great book nonetheless. Like all Matt Haig books, I’ve folded down so many corners of pages to come back to at another date. Made me realise even more that I need to put my phone down and just live.

More excellent advice from the wonderful Matt Haig. Whilst reading, it all seems so obvious & easy to integrate into life in a positive way. At 3am, I do often have issues reminding myself of the more salient points (because - sometimes - my brain seems to hate me...)

In the absence of a turtle to ask for life advice, I've decided to ask my Shubunkin Dave instead. I'll feed back on how that goes...

I started this book not with much expectations. Turns out, it was a wonderful surprise. The narration is beautiful and the reflection on mental health gives a whole new perspective to mental illness. Absolutely a must-read for everyone of us. I couldn't relate more.

I had read Matt Haig's most recent book 'The Midnight Library' and then realized I had two of his other books bought on my Kindle. Won't lie here the covers are really good and were one of the reasons for me to buy them.
I would say I liked the book and lots of parts made me think about what is said, or made me realize I have felt or thought the same. But other parts kept being repeated and that made the book a bit boring for the last two-three chapters. They had good paragraphs, but were mostly the book all over.
Otherwise the books is very easy to read and can be finished in no time.

Another amazing book from Matt Haig! This and Reasons To Stay Alive are two books I never thought I would get much out of but after picking up RTSA on a whim, I knew I needed this book.

To date, this is the only book aside from poetry that I've felt the need to tab.

I needed to keep track of all these parts that really spoke to me, that really made me understand things about myself, that made me feel understood by someone I have never met. I know want to go back to RTSA and tab that too because sometimes, when you have a bad day, rather than reading the whole book, flicking to those points that really spoke to you can do wonders.

Highly recommend.

I think this is my new favorite of Matt Haig's memoirs. I love his audiobooks, because his cadence is careful, and the lists and short sentences take on a poetic, meditative quality. I bookmarked at least four spots that I need to go back to for journal prompts.
