I agree with pretty much all that Matt Haig has to say in this book. And I'm truly happy for him that he's found ways to soothe his mind and minimize the effects of his mental illness. But I did not like this book at all. It was shallow, repetitive and he tried to universalize his experiences without really considering that not all brains work like his and some people face challenges that are nothing like his own. Haig's "nervous planet" seems to consist only of successful white middle class Twitter-obsessed men living in Westernized countries and that was a huge problem for me.
Really loved this and really connected with it. It’s really nothing you might not have heard before but he writes in an easy to grasp way. Hoping I can implement things he talked about into my own life

I’ve struggled with anxiety for 12 years and depression for 6. Matt Haig’s books make me feel like I’m not alone and to not be ashamed of my mental illnesses. Whenever I feel myself spiralling either way I can always find a passage or two to make me feel that little bit better.
3.5*
i....am a mess of a human and this made me feel a little less alone in my messiness.

A lovely quick listen. Matt Haig has a great writing voice and he explores what can be quite existential and spiritual topics with an appealing frankness. Sure he loves yoga to help manage his anxiety and depression, but he’s not being a pain about it, you know?
