This was cute, and I really liked the premise. I enjoyed Edna and Benjamin and Kiernan. I even liked Red as our morally gray antagonist. Clem drove me bonkers, though. I also think this book tried to be too much. It tried to be a realistic allegory as well as a comedic romp and (in my opinion) the two tones weren't merged very well. Still, I'd recommend it to those who want a twist on the Chosen One trope.
