~ thank you to NetGalley and Headline for providing me a digital copy to review ~

I’ll be honest, when I started this book, I didn’t realise it was a part of a series that I had wanted to read, but I fell into this book really easily. The book focuses on Wes, the eldest of the Jansen brothers, and Hailey, the owner of a soon to be thriving salad bar. Both have it clear in their mind that they don’t want to be in a relationship and want to build a friendship with each other, but as we all know when it comes to love, things never conform to a strict plan.

The characters were likeable, and I enjoyed their chemistry, especially as things progressed. Wes and Hailey have their own personal growth challenges as well as their situational differences in their relationship as friends. I also really enjoyed the involvement of family and friends, that always pulls my heart strings. I definitely want to find out more about the younger brothers’ romance stories as they seemed besotted with their other halves.

Overall I found this a nice easy read that did have me invested and I would recommend!

A solid 3 stars. But nothing memorable to make me recommend it. I

I did like how the backstories of the characters from previous books were woven into the narrative without being a data dump. For example, Fiona recognizes Noah and Grace from a magazine article on the house they restored in book #2 and asks them questions about it. This totally jogged my memory because I had forgotten all about book #2.

*I received an advance copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher and I am required to disclose that in my review in compliance with federal law.

I was rooting for Hailey & Wes the entire time. This was a great friends to lovers story!

There are a lot of things I loved about this book. It was an easy read that I couldn't put down. I appreciated the independence of both lead characters.

SpoilerMy one major critique is that the will-they-won't they lasted a bit too long in the "we aren't communicating our feelings" realm. Specifically, it was frustrating to see Hailey continuously call Wes's outings with Anna dates when he was very clear that they were not. And then she would get all upset about his 'not-dates', pass tons of judgment, and get mad at him. It seemed very childish and a bit out of character for her.

I just loved everything about this book! This has been a great series, but just know you don't need to read the prior books to enjoy this one. RTC

Wish I would have known the other two brothers’ stories were before this book

It was really cute and wholesome but towards the end felt rushed and random. It went from a slow-burn to rapid development very suddenly making it feel forced to me and weird for the characters.
