"This is it! This us what I'm looking for" was what I was thinking when I read the book. Della is the type of protagonist that I was looking for. Most of the time. stories have characters that are indecisive, wimpy or just plain insecure. Della is different. Her personality is one that many admire. Strong. Level-headed (most of the time) Sarcastic. and mostly Badass. Yet , while she is strong, she is vulnerable, pained and wary of people.
The story and the mystery drew me in, but the clues instead of being subtle were very obvious . Sad to say most of the story was predictable, however I still enjoyed it. The character development of Chase was well written and the setting was quite realistic. Although I haven't read her previous book I can say C.C. Hunter 's is a very good storyteller.
The only thing I felt was unnecessary was the love triangle. Honestly, I feel it wouldn't exist if Della would just be honest to herself. Her mind is giving her so many clues, yet she won't admit them and keeps struggling between the two. I may be biased but I think Chase suits Della more. Something about the two just click.
Overall ,I really enjoyed the book. Enjoyed it so much that I'm literally raging that the 2nd book is not out yet.

WHY
Oh mein Gott. Das Buch ist echt ein Knaller. Spannend von der ersten bis zur letzten Seite. Ich habe ja schon die Shadow Falls Camp Reihe geliebt und dieses Spin-off hat mich nicht enttäuscht 😍
I really think it should be a 4.5. It was really good! There were many things that you weren't expecting and it no doubt very very interesting! It made all of your problems look pathetic, honestly. You want to pity her but she is such a strong girl that you know she can get through it. I never wanted to put it down! It got my heart racing and my eyes racing across the page to find out just what happens! I loved it!

K lets talk about this book. Somewhat Spoilers but not really.
I had throughly enjoyed the Shadow Falls series and Della was probably one of my favourite characters. I will say that this book had a lot of what I loved about the series but Della is not Kylie. For example, her somewhat seeing ghosts? You got to be kidding me. Kylie and Holiday are the ghost-whispers, not Della. Her FRU journeys and her wanting to learn more about her family and why she’s a vampire was great. I didn’t need a ghost to tie that in because now I feel as if i’m reading Kylies POV. Also the love triangle we didn’t need. I feel like i’m reading Kylie picking between Lucas and Derek all over again.
C.C Hunter had a great concept for this series and yes I will still be reading the next book just cause of the cliffhanger but I don’t need repeats of Kylie.
Also, can they just say bitch? They are 17-18 now and Miranda saying “B with an inch” gets me pissed of. They are old enough just to say the god damn word.
Rating this 3.5 because Barnett still is my baby boy. He might be an ass at sometimes but I love that man.

This is good, really good!! Can't wait to read the next book :)
If you liked the universe of Shadow Falls, you will enjoy this follow-up series that picks up where the last book of Kylie's story left off. Della's personality is very different from nice and submissive Kylie, and I was pleasantly surprised by the refreshing change, even though Della could be incredibly frustrating at times, often acting against her own self interests. And her behavior towards others is very harsh--so much so that I think in the real world she would not have as many friends or boys hanging around her.
The author does a good job at writing love triangles, and there is more of that in this series. I liked the new character Chase a lot, however I disliked how long Della's trust issues dragged on throughout the series. As in Kylie's series, you get a lot of teasing romance scenes, and only the tiniest bit of a happy ending. If I could change one thing with both of these series, I would want to get to enjoy more of the happy part of the romance when they finally come together.
The main premise of the series--the FRU case Della works on that involves her family--was not very interesting to me, and I found myself skimming over the details in the last 2 books.
