Oh my God! I haven’t felt the warm fuzzies the way I did with this book in forever! I’m not one to give out five stars willy-nilly, but this story seriously deserved it.
The way this book is written, beautifully “shows not tells” how Bree and Nathan feel about each other. I mean, they tell it too, it’s painfully obvious to everyone but them actually, but in a good way.
Just by reading the description, you might think this book is made up of the most annoying tropes. To be honest, it is, but it’s written in a way that’s enjoyable and not like any other book that’s done it.
Nathan’s POV’s were my favorite. The way he describes Bree and makes it clear he’s in it for the long game, not just sex, was so refreshing. THIS is what love is supposed to be. THIS is what should be the book other books look up to. No Alpha male. No owning. No red flags. Nathan is everything a healthy love interest should be.
The only parts I didn’t like about this part were when the girls who would flirt with Nathan in front of Bree were the stereotypical slut-shamed, caked on make up, boobs spilling out of her top kind of girls. There were only two or three, but I’m just tired of woman who like their body being written as the bad guys.
All in all, I absolutely loved this book! I can’t wait to read it again in a few months after I’ve acquired a physical copy to display on my shelf. :)

cute but cliche. it did what it was supposed to do but I did want to literally murder Bree frequently.

2 ⭐️ This fell squarely into the friends-to-lovers and fake dating tropes but it really didn’t resonate with me. I think my biggest issue with the friends-to-lovers trope is that it’s based on the idea that two friends don’t want to communicate openly with each other and everything in the story could have been resolved if they would just have an honest chat…which rarely rings true to me.

i don’t usually like friends to lovers because of the slow-burn of being already friends and THEN lovers BUT I TOTALLY LOVED THIS BOOK. i was afraid the anticipation would be for nothing but NO it was ALL WORTH IT. seriously i LOVE breenathan. they both are EVERYTHING to me. thank u so much sarah for creating them.
emotional funny

Best friends to lovers that feels believable - it’s a good slow burn too. I loved how much they cared for each other. I think it was fair that it took so dang long for them to get together and not wanting to ruin the friendship is a huge hurdle to get over. I loved Bree’s sister, Nathan’s teammates were great & Dylan perfect. If a story doesn’t have good supporting characters, I don’t want it.

“Is it ever too late to leave the friend zone?”

Fun and lighthearted. Friends to lovers; dual POV with a ballerina and football player. Both main characters are charming and their “friend zone” feelings felt pretty realistic; Bree and Nathan are hopelessly is love with each other but afraid to say anything. I was hooked and read it in a couple days. This book was what I need to get me out of my reading funk
