Tristemente lo único que merece la pena de este libro es la parte dedicada a la prehistoria (y muchos términos hay que cogerlos con pinzas). A partir de ahí, cuesta abajo y sin frenos. Una decepción enorme, la verdad.

This is a huge scope of a book, but done very informatively and accessibly. The first half is better than the second—the tone doesn’t quite match. Sometimes it explains the simplest things as to middle schoolers, but leaves other assumptions unexamined. Not perfect but was a huge reset for me.

თავიდან უკეთესი იყო, თუმცა მერე კარგი. მთლიანობაში ძალიან საინტერესო წიგნია. ჩემთვის ერთი მინუსია, რომ როდესაც რაიმე წიგნის სათაურში არის სიტყვა "ისტორია", ველოდები რომ უფრო ქრონოლოგიურად იქნება ყველაფერი, რო ადრე ასე იყო, მერე ის დაემატა, მერე გავლენა ქონდა ამას, ის შეიცვალად და ა.შ. ეს წიგნიც მასე დაიწყო, მაგრამ შემდეგ უკვე ცოტა ქაოსურად გაგრძელდა.

ასევე, მიუხედავად იმისა, რომ რაღცეებში ალბათ არ ვეთანხმები და არც ლოგიკურ კავშირებში მივყვები ბოლომდე, ძალიან ძალიან ბევრი საინტერესო და სასარგებლო ფაქტისა და ამბის წყაროა ეს წიგნი!

P.S. თარგმანი ნორმალური იყო, მაგრამ არ ვიცი რა მჭირს - ქართულ თარგმანებს მაინც რაღაც ეჭვით და "მინუსით" ვკითხულობ :)

Dated in the face of modern discovery and interpretation, this is still a good read to support knowledge.

The beginning of this book is so strong and explores a budding Homo sapiens species as it develops and interacts with other human species. It was filled with scientifically-backed theories and explanations presented in an exciting way that made you want to keep reading.

Unfortunately, the rest of the book seemed to throw out most of the scholarship and jump directly into conjecture and sweeping over-generalizations.
