I really enjoy the setting of this book. The naughty scenes are written really lovely.
But I had a bit of struggle following the story itself. At some points I had to re-read a page because I thought I missed something. But there was just a jump in the story and not an obvious indicator that it happened. (Took me 2 more books to realize that theres sometimes a bigger line break.. Id appreacite some "***" or something)
And while the idea of the ending is cute, I honestly thought my ebook was broken and the first chapter was repeated. I get the idea the author went for but it was.. too similar? It felt really copy pasted.

And I need more story. The world building has so much potential. The naughty bits are awesome but this could be so much more than that.

Loved it

Interesting take on the omegaverse scenario and I was positively riveted with the controller. Five stars and a fun read!

I liked the writing enough to give the second book in the series a try (especially since it focuses on a different main character) but overall, Taking Control wasn't that memorable of a read for me. The characters were very undeveloped, especially the male lead.

I also don't really enjoy when a character is presumed to be dead and then it's revealed in the next chapter that he was alive all along. Why even put that in the novel if in ten pages it won't matter?

Hudson was an interesting character, and I'm curious to see what his book will be like. I hope it'll maybe be a little darker than this novel ended up being.

Compelling, and engaging dark omegaverse romance. This is well written with incredible, hot steam. I really enjoyed the world building, action and power exchange.

I really like these

I really like this series so far. It’s just the perfect amount of all the things I love. The smut, the action, they mystery, and all the feels. Looking forward to the next book!

There was really not much of a story to this book. It was mostly just sex. I would have liked more of an explanation of the Omega/Controller relationship and why “investing” was necessary. Logan made Eloise read about “investing”, and other than the sex scenes that were involved in that, there was no explanation for the whole “investing” thing. I had so many questions! Like why was it necessary? What were these protocols that were in that book that Eloise read? Maybe the answers will be become more apparent as the series continues.

I also wish that more of the book was written from Logan’s perspective. About 90% of it was written from Eloise’s POV, and there were only a couple of chapters where we got to see what Logan was thinking. I wasn’t a huge fan of the ending either. I felt like it ended rather abruptly.

This wasn't for me - I wanted to enjoy it, but it felt like the ideas were all quite underdeveloped - it wasn't clear why Eloise had been told lies about the mission they were going on, and the love story felt weak. There were also details that were missed (she's made to read a book about 'Investing', but later says she doesn't know anything about it?), which was frustrating. A quick read, but ultimately not one that makes me want to continue with the series.

This was hotter than fish grease. No, this was hotter than the sun itself. I am putting in an order to the universe to send me a Logan to " control" me!

Sex scenes were very explicit.. and devoid of emotions. Like at all.
So those sex scenes, as the only basis for the sinful, eager yet unmoved reader to believe that MC are falling in love, failed miserably.
I almost gave the book up, but a bit of curiosity for the ending kept me going. I will try the second book, but if the urge to stop grips me again I’m going to yield.
