My Review: This one was a slightly slower story but it worked out very well. I really loved how this one made me think of a prequel to a movie that was out forever ago called Water World. Because this is set in our world but it been devastated by storms, flooding, and earthquakes. The world is pretty much almost fully covered in water and the government and NASA are trying to find a way to send 6 teens to one of the moons of Jupiter called Europa.

I really enjoyed how this one started out and the dual POV. At first, I thought I was going to hate it but it really worked out in the end. So don't worry you do NOT have 6 POVS just 2. I was kind of freaking out when I saw that it has different POVs and went and checked to see how many there were.

So the story of this one has us going through the selection, training, and the final selection for the final six. Along the way there were some major twists and turns that I didn't totally see coming. One twist dealing with this story and this injection the kids were given had me thinking of this movie on Netflix where adults were given an injection so they could survive on another planet but it started changing them into a being or creature that could survive and it took away their humanity altogether. But don't worry that was so not a turn off for this book. That movie although kind of weird was really good.

The pacing of this was really good. I never felt bored and I wanted to keep reading I really hope that we get a book two. I tweeted to the author but she never said if there was going to be a book two. Why are authors so evil sometimes?

We get another twist during the end of this book and it really sets up a book two. I will be nothing but tears if we do not get a book two for this!! Well, I guess there will be a book two Goodreads has updated to add the series so YAY!!

One other thing about this book that I am totally freaking out about is that Sony has picked it up to turn it into a movie!! So fingers crossed they don't kill it.

It took me a bit to get into it, but I flew through the second half! The writing was a little clunky in places but it was a fun story and I would absolutely read a sequel.

I was actually pleasantly surprised by this book. I always approach library ebooks with caution, but this one does a nice job of really transporting you into the author's imagination. I really felt like I was part of the team, standing by the main characters as the story progressed. We downloaded this one for the drive up the California coast, and our plan was to listen to an hour or so of it and then listen to music, but we ended up listening to it the whole way there and back. Finished it in two days.
The only reason I didn't give five stars was because of the ending, and honestly that's just my opinion. I would also categorize it as junk food sci-fi (nothing wrong with that at all. It's what I write), but definitely a fun book worth the read.

Did I like this book? Sure. Did I give a single hoot about any of the characters? Nope. Will I read the sequel? Heck yes.

Hard to read this without comparing it to last year's [b:Dare Mighty Things|29523636|Dare Mighty Things|Heather Kaczynski|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1486704232s/29523636.jpg|49820325] which I rated 5 stars. This had a lot of the same things I liked, I guess I'm a sucker for space training camps. I liked the characters of Naomi and Leo, and especially seeing the differences between them. It was interesting being in a near-apocalyptic time where half the world is underwater and there are regular earthquakes and tsunamis. It was also paced well and was a very quick read.

What I didn't like were some typical YA problems, where it was too convenient and also unrealistic at times, and I could have done without the romance. Leo and Naomi both have a POV and their voices weren't really that different making it hard to distinguish whose chapter it was. I also would have liked to see a little bit more before it ended.

three stars ∗ alright, i was genuinely surprised by this book? i went into it not know anything, and just the fact that it’s about nasa and space exploration made me love it so so much!

everything about this book was executed perfectly. i loved the characters (naomi and leo own my heart omg), i loved the writing style, i loved the plot, i loved everything!

my one wish is that it would’ve been told in third person pov rather than first, but overall i’m very satisfied with this book as whole. i’m so glad that it exceeded all my expectations, and i think it pulled me out of my reading slump!!
