Fun, light read. Would enjoy reading more in the series.

This is something like book 14 in a series but I didn't know that when I picked it up at a library sale. The setting is in an English seacoast tourist town in the 1920's. The family of a Scotland Yard detective is on vacation there when the wife learns of a situation that leads to murder within days of their arrival. The detective is thrust into the investigation even though he is on vacation. Like most books by English authors the language is precise and written such that you feel like you are there. I plan to read the rest of the books now.

The fourteenth book in the Daisy Dalrymple 1920s cosy murder mystery series sees the discovery of the body of a local philanderer. This one was a tale of two halves. The first half I really enjoyed. It had a bit of a slow start but it was nice to see Carola Dunn building up to the discovery of the body. The second half, despite more action I just did not enjoy as much and I was a little disappointed with the final reveal. Overall it was fine but I had been expecting a little bit more from the first half of the book.
