3.5 stars | this was a good easy read. Not too much drama and a little bit of angst.

Cute and sweet, if sometimes a bit predictable and repetitive.

Definitely could do with another proofreading pass. I started noticing significantly more grammatical errors by the last fourth of the book, and that made me wonder how much I hadn't noticed before it. Looking back, I think it was also around that part where the book started to lose me. It had a solid first half, but by the end it felt like I was reading a different book altogether. The Arden in the latter parts of the book felt like one transposed from a parallel world, and I had to go back to the beginning more than once to make sure the characters weren't younger than I remembered them to be.

Still, I appreciate the book touching on sobriety. I admit I have almost zero knowledge on the topic (I feel that we are "behind the times" where I live) and it helped me understand the issue better.

Disappointing. It started quite ok but went down hill pretty soon. The romance was in a very surface level and the characters were not very convincing. It was a quick read though.

*listened to this on audiobook, which was funny/interesting because it’s about an audiobook narrator falling in love with the author*

I usually try not to post bad reviews but I just really did not like this one and want to warn others from wasting their time with it…It’s a sapphic romance, but the characters have no chemistry, it’s one of the worst cases of insta-love that I’ve ever read in a queer romance.
The way the story flowed just felt really choppy and made no sense to me honestly. The characters were not fleshed out well—their only real personality traits were that Reese was socially anxious and Arden was rude at the beginning. This book was really short and I think it would have benefitted from being at least like 50-100 pages longer so the characters and plot could have actually been developed. I would have DNFed this but it was so short that I just pushed through. I’m honestly so surprised at the number of positive reviews of this book on here-there wasn’t much I liked about it besides that it was sapphic and Judith (minor character) was funny and sweet.
