Oh man, so this book goes on and on about how great the Scandinavian countries are, and I'm all for it. Haha, having lived there, I get it. So there are lots of things mentioned in this book that are out of my sphere of direct influence, but there are plenty of good ideas here that I am going to try and implement. If I can be a little kinder and help others do the same, that's something.

This book was such a pleasant way to start the year! I feel like it’ll guide me to making great choices this year, as well as help me develop strategies in curing any “bad days” I might incur (especially with our political climate). Kindness, community, and health seem to be the biggest factors of happiness (to me) and I think Wiking nails it for giving me the tools to figure out how to feel happier.
Would highly recommend! I think it’ll become my go-to gift for birthdays, holidays, and special events.

This is a book that you can sit down to read, or just read little sections at a time. It really gives some insightful information and insights (sorry for this sentence using repetitive sounding words, it’s too late at night to be creative). Some are things I’ve been aware of for quite some time, but it’s still nice to see how the author finds the connections the stories of people and culture around the world. Definitely a worthwhile read to give you hope about the world and small steps we can take to increase our personal happiness as well as to try and increase the happiness of those we encounter.

This was an enjoyable little book. I find Wiking’s writing interesting and often funny. I think focusing on what makes us happy is important. I appreciated how in this book Wiking was able to bring in more elements and stories from around the world since he wasn’t focusing on hygge, a quintessentially Danish topic. Yes, Danes are happy, but they don’t have a monopoly on it. We can all take a closer look at what makes us happy and take steps toward achieving it in our own lives and communities.
