It was fun to hear a more personal side of one of my favorite writers/ actors in the memior. I liked hearing about the things she cares about, things she fears, things she hopes for, and getting a sneak peek into what was going on in her life as she filmed Broad City. She is just an adorable breath of fresh air and I enjoyed reading her story.
One thing that was hard to read was the parts where she was dealing with insomnia and racing thoughts; those parts got long.

My brain is forever chemically altered since I watched broad city when I was 15. But this book ain’t it. My manic notes are more cohesive than this. I still love abbi

I relate to Abbi on her heartbreak. The redoing of things without your significant other. It was soothing to have one of my favorite girls from Broad City with her unique voice talk about life as a twenty something to a new 30 year old.

Rounded up from 1.5 because I do like Abbi Jacobson. But I did not like this book. It just felt like endless rambles slapped together with some art that was presented under this guise of a “road trip” theme that was really just underwhelming in most aspects. I think this book could’ve benefited from a point—because it felt like there wasn’t one. Even in its highlights, there wasn’t really anything nuanced or unique in the perspectives she shared. It all just felt a little bland. I feel sorry to have disliked this book as much as I did!
