The first half of this book, great, 4 stars I was certain. And then what happened? It just got CHEESY. Like, I know, it's Kristen Ashley. You expect the silly cheesy romance. It was cute at first, when they were getting to know one another and arguing etc. But there comes a point where I can't take it anymore. It becomes unrealistic and cringeworthy, especially the dialogue at times. It also wasn't the best written book, which again I expect and don't mind that with KA and this series, but for some reason, this book just didn't sit well with me. I did like how we got to see Finnie/Frey and Circle/Lahn again, and bringing the 3 couples together. I also liked the hints to the next book, so of course I'll be picking up book four, but I can't say I'm not disappointed, especially after how great Golden Dynasty was.

I first bought these books over ten years ago and recently I discovered them again on my Kindle and decided on a re-read because I needed some easy reading and I remembered enjoying them when I first read them. Getting back into this series has been very interesting, mostly in seeing what a difference that ten years of life experience has had on my perceptions of these stories. What I once thought was a brilliant series just hit a little differently this time around, some were not as bad as others but I was a little stuck on the message that these stories feed to women, especially if you were to come across them at an impressionable stage in your life.

After the last book, I was hesitant to read this one, but my curiosity won out and I decided to give it a shot. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this book was back to the style of the first book, although the MC in this book Cora doesn't realise that she has been switched with her parallel universe twin and thinks that she is in a dream.

It was a bit unexpected that Cora decides to tell her intended romantic counterpart, Tor, the truth about her situation, even though he doesn't believe her and instead believes his wife is playing games with him. I quite liked that she was trying to steer away from the miscommunication trope a little in this one, and it gave the story a bit of a different twist.

For once in this series it wasn't the male MC that let the side down, he was a bossy alpha type but he managed to avoid most of the pitfalls that I was expecting. Instead, it was Cora who got on my nerves, or rather it was the fact that all of the female characters speak in the same really unrealistic and kind of childish way, and I think by the time I got to this story it was really grating on me.

I was also a little sad that in this book it is the first time that a character from the parallel universe gets transported back to our world and instead of getting to explore that a little it is brushed over to focus on Cora essentially freaking out. Also as much as this is a fantasy story it did annoy me that Tor just seemed to figure out our world, which is vastly more advanced than his, without much effort, it just seemed too unbelievable.

Interestingly though there is a subplot that reveals itself in this story that becomes very important for the next book and that did intrigue me.

Tor is a right asshole and Cora was so lovely, how could he be mean to her?

I really did enjoy their story though and I think Cora is my favourite out of all the ladies!

Once upon a time a soul was torn in half and made to live in two people, one of those people just happened to live in a different world.

Noctorno was told all his life that the Cora of his world held the other half of his soul. But after he met her he thought the god’s cruel to give him her. Now he despises the woman, so when Cora of the other world is switched he believes that everything is just an act so she can hurt him again. Because who would believe in a magical world with cars, telephones and all the other crazy things that Cora told him about. Definitely not the Black Prince, he is too smart for that and believes it is all a lie.

“In this world,” I kept whispering, “you were the only thing I had but you were the only thing I needed.”

I love books that seem like kinky fairy tales and this is no exception. I want all the H/h to get their HEA in the end after they have destroyed the witch/wizard/dragon etc. Cora, has come to this new world and found that the woman she replaced was the most hated in the land. I like Cora through every challenge she faced she hit it head on and give our uber alpha a fight along the way. Noctorno, came across as a bit of a jerk in the beginning, but is easily likeable after learning of his dealings with the Cora of his world.

Cora’s sister Rosa has been taken by a witch and Noctorno must protect Cora while others search for her. Fantastical had a few contrived plot devices that I didn’t quite buy into and the plot wasn’t quiet as strong as Golden Dynasty but the ride was enjoyable and seeing the characters in both worlds interesting. I didn’t get why the couples could meet all they wanted before they were wed but couldn’t see each other on their wedding day or a curse would come over the land.

I like Tor and Cora together and how their relationship grew. The ending was really setting up for more of the underscoring plot of the series to start taking over in the fight against the witch and deposed king. I loved seeing a few couples from the last book again if only briefly. This was still a fun story and I enjoyed the fairy tale fantasy with a little kink added in..

I am loving this series, I really wasn't sure about this book in the beginning but wow I am so glad I stuck through it.

I loved that we have Cora going from her world to the parallel universe. But then also she goes back to her world but with Tor.

It was so different from the other books because they never had the man have to go back to the 20th century before. I just love how much I liked that.

Anyways back to Cora, she just struck a chord in me, she had to deal with the other Cora’s actions in both universes. It kind of broke my heart a little. But she was fierce and didn't let that get her down oh no it didn't.

What a fabulous tale of finding love then having to really fight to keep it. I really enjoy the narration of this book as well as the others.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Overall, I enjoyed this story, and how it is all tying in to the series as a whole.

That being said, I had a helluva hard time reading from this heroine's POV, as I found her to be inconsistent, and mildly annoying.

Tor (and Noc), on the other hand, I loved.

I found myself doing a lot of eye rolling, and page skimming; I just wasn't as invested in this story as I was with the other two.

3ish stars.

Fucking loveeeeeeeeeeed it............ el epilogo !!!!!! Holly molly.

Another homerun from Ms. Ashley! I loved this one too and now I am ridiculously excited for the the next book! Between all of the other world girls now being together and Valentine doing whatever she is doing... well I'm about to bust. I loved Tor and Cora- especially when the confusion was cleared up regarding Cora. Excellent book. Now I'm experiencing a KA hangover....
