The ONLY reason I didn’t give this book 5 stars is because TJ Klune blew my mind with Wolfsong and I’m not sure anything can come close to that for a long, long time. Once again though, the YEARNING and the HEARTBREAK in this freaking series is going to be the death of me. Not to mention how absolutely hilarious Klune’s writing is when he’s not ripping your heart out. Gordo, Chris, Tanner, and Rico are SUCH good characters and have such amazing chemistry. Mark deserves the world and I hope we see resolution there in the next book. I don’t know how much more pain he or I can take. I wish we saw more Ox and Joe but knowing they’re in the background taking care of their pack makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. Klune does such a good job at writing badass but lovable characters and every chapter I read has me smirking, smiling, or borderline crying at my book. Ultimately? Amazing and I do not regret for a second jumping headfirst into this series. I’m only two books in and I’m already sad there aren’t more than four.

I stg this book hits the same with every reread.
“Wherever you are, that’s where my home is.”
Ravensong was beautiful in so many ways. It was the depiction of a love that manifested for half a lifetime, yet never died. It was the story of what made Gordo feel abandoned and Mark feel defeated. The past that turned them away from each other for years upon years, only to lead them back to one another.
It is a year after the end of Wolfsong and the Bennett pack has been through hell. Now more than ever Gordo struggles to ignore the bond that was always between him and Mark. Just when things start lightening up, monsters begin to manifest from within wolves, breaking away at the tethers keeping Green Creek safe.
T.J Klune has done it again, simultaneously warming and breaking my heart. I am completely in love with the Green Creek series and every character that comes with it. Ravensong has made for itself a special place in my heart, as I came to love Gordo and Mark’s story even more than Ox and Joe’s. It was beautiful to see them overcome the years and years of hurt and denial, to see Gordo finally accepting the love that was waiting for him since he was young. The amount of tears I shed for these two is incredible.
Klune’s writing is once again spectacular, his words flow so easily while still maintaining a wondrous complexity.
That being said, there is nothing else that excites me more than the thought of reading Heartsong as soon as possible. Kelly and Robbie are both so sweet, I’m rooting for them!

What can I say about this second installment in the Green Creek series? This was definitely more frustrating that Wolfsong. With Gordo’s backstory and all the hurt and anger he felt in past and present time, it was hard to separate myself from what he was feeling. I wanted him to move on from his hurt so bad and caught myself yelling at him to just get over it already and be with Mark. And poor Mark. His shit was just as a sad, too. I have new found feelings towards Thomas Bennett and it was so upsetting that he just left Gordo and didn’t even really care on his return to Green Creek.
I loved the scene with Gordo and Thomas. I feel like that was so important for Gordo to heal and move on from that part of his anger.
The whole last half of the book was a wild ride. The hunters, Elijah, Dale…
Also, THAT ENDING. Can’t wait for #3

I'm glad we are getting events before Wolfsong. I'm quite pleased that I'm finding this story to continually grow and even be better than Wolfsong, but it might be due to knowing these characters and seeing them just go. I love how cinematic many of the act 3 scenes were conveyed. I honestly had a feeling I would like Ravensong more than Wolfsong with the given that it's told in Gordo's perspective. What a triumph. So excited for the follow up.
