I liked it but it wasn't one of the WOW books I am used to. Definitely recommend though for the message of what makes a human and how far humane you can be when the world has gone to s*t.

I have loved this trilogy so much. There are a lot of twists and turns. You are never sure what the motives are and who can be trusted. I must admit that this book did drag a little for me. There is a lot of switching back and forth between the two major factions. At times, the outer characters became tangled.
Although the ending is amazing, this book was my least favorite in this series. Books one and two focus on two different characters that are entwined. This book brings all those elements to a head and it trips itself up in a few places.

This was a super fast paced and entertaining conclusion to the trilogy. There's not a single dull moment to be found and I couldn't flip the pages fast enough whenever I got around to reading. I loved all of the different pov's yet again and the development in general was really well done.
In the end, most of the story-line development wasn't really surprising to me and I thought that Some of the things happening towards the end went a bit fast for my taste and maybe even felt a little too 'easy' regarding how it all was resolved, so hence the 4 star rating instead of 5.
But other than that; this was just a truly awesome read and such a good reading experience so it definitely deserves a solid 4 star rating imo. I hiiiighly recommend to read this trilogy if you haven't picked it up yet!
To the people who've read LIFEL1K3 & DEV1AT3 already; you're in for a treat with this one! Overall this was a really strong final installment that I thoroughly enjoyed reading! This one gave me yet again all the iRobot and Terminator feels from time to time < Loved it!

This book was an emotional rollercoaster! But thats what I love about Jay. He always ends up killing my favorite characters.

I’ve enjoyed the easy read feel to this series but I’ll also say that’s a criticism as much as a compliment. I just didn’t care about these characters the way I did about Covere or anyone in the Illuminae files. This whole series just lacked the character details that I loved about his other works. Which isn’t to say these characters weren’t fleshed out or stagnant in their development because they were fleshed out and developed further than diesel could have teleported them. But something about this whole series just fell a little flat to me.
I liked the twist on the chosen one trope. I liked that even robots got a chance. I liked that this mixed match of machine, human and super solider all got a chance to choose their own fates in the end. But again the stakes in this felt high but I never felt panicked by them. Characters died and I just didn’t react. Which says a lot as I cry at Ads with puppies for godsakes. I think ultimately this series tried to be too much. If we’d stuck to one theme, one conflict, a smaller cast of characters I may have felt differently.
True cert I really enjoyed this series despite it flaws and I hope we all learn to take our lives, minds and hearts to be our own in the end.
