Creepy enough to compel my reading, but also overly contrived and predictable. A realistic level of queer community which is nice.

Extremely satisfying ending! I figured out the main plot point midway but was still excited to continue on and see where we ended up. A really interesting book on how grief can completely control someone's life and their inability to see what's going on right in front of them.
What a rollercoaster! As a Mariner Book Partner I am so glad to be given this book to review! This book was light then dark then that all over again. Had me guessing where it was going the whole time. Ava is such a likeable character and you want her to have good things but it seems like some things are just too good to be true! I don't want to give away anything but this book definitely surprised me!
I already have the cast set up in my head for the film adaptation! I'm thinking Hulu should def pick this one up.

I always love a debut novel...I could see the denouement coming miles away but I enjoyed this book for all that. Ava, a quiet person who thrives on order and is in her early thirties, works for a home furnishings company that reminds me a lot of Ikea. I particularly enjoyed the product names, such as the Very Nice Box and the Cozy Nesting Tables, to name a few. This is a book about the workplace and about gender roles and about loss and coping with grief. It's oddly funny and the adjective quirky was just about made for this book. I enjoyed the characters and the office setting and the way the story ended. I would read another by this author. I read this in one day; couldn't put it down.
