While the series concluded satisfyingly, this particular book fell short of expectations. It didn’t even begin to reach the high standards set by its predecessors, the plot hardly followed the previous books and in my opinion Adam and Naya were NOTHING like Jarrod and Leigh. The romance took off abruptly, shifting from dislike to "can't breathe without each other." While there was development in the relationship amid missions, I wished for a more gradual relationship progression throughout the book. I would recommend stopping at book 2.

I love a tragic ending, and Olivia Wildenstien’s novel Feather delivered this to me in spades.
When the sequel to Feather came out (Celestial) my elder emo heart thrummed at the angst and i again, was not disappointed.
So, when the finale to the series, Starlight, dropped onto my kindle I was thrilled.
Starlight gave the tragic heroes of book one the ever after that they so sorely deserved.
It was an action packed novel with a love story first sight, star crossed, soul mates, strangers to lovers romance.
To be fair, this installment’s pacing was slow. It wasn’t a slow burn, it just took a little longer to get to the good stuff. Once we got there though, I wished everything could have slowed down again because I was enjoying the heck out of it.
I loved Adam almost as much as Jarod and Asher never did disappoint. Adam’s love was obsessive and Naya’s light was the perfect juxtaposition to his dark. They both loved fiercely and the little bits and pieces of Jarod and Leigh that we go to see in Adam and Naya made my heart ache.
Overall this was a perfect conclusion to the Angels of Elysium trilogy and I can’t wait to get the special edition omnibus in March

WOW! By far my favorite of the Elysium series! The male narrator, Adam Gold, did an spectacular job! The action and tension were amazing!
3.8! I think I enjoyed the plot of this one more, but it also felt more YA but with pretty Adult things happening. All the main characters felt more like kids.
Also, the whole giving up on souls and being down with murder really didn’t vibe with the vibes. I dunno, it felt like a mistake. It felt like Naya lost a core part of who she is here. And Adam being down with it from the start also kinda uncomfortable? It almost felt like this plot line proved the opposite—I was actually worried that this was a sign why Nephilims shouldn’t be brought back.

What a beautiful ending to a beautiful series. These characters really found a home under my skin and they will probably stay there a while. Each book just kept getting better. Book 2 might have been my favorite because it had the heartbreak of the first book and all the sass that comes with Celeste but also hope for the future which was brought in book 3. This ending was so perfect it had me with happy tears. The whole concept of souls not being worthy and then being saved bc someone did find them worthy and then finding each other again.. I love it. This is the first story I read with that idea and I really liked it.
A little bit of a spoiler here....
I love that Adam and Naya weren't identical to Jarod and Leigh but it was clear it was the same soul. Jared's personality had been shaped by his trauma and Adam didn't have that. But their similarities were in their mind. The way they thought, they were good leaders. Adam being raised in the guild and with loving parents obviously shaped him to not be cynical and he had better goals. Naya was more sassy with Celeste now being her mom but her pure soul always shined through just like Leigh. It was so nice to find the differences and similarities and the author did a great job. I was so ready for them to be together and realize they were soul halves lol
I definitely recommend this series. It was a breath of fresh air. You get tears, sadness, heartbreak, injustice but ultimately a HEA and it is worth the whole ride there.

deswegen eher 2,7/2,8

I was so excited to read their stories. But I got to say I wasn’t the biggest fan of the story line over all. And I can’t lie and say I liked Adam, not sure what happened because I loved Jarod’s character. But making a 18 yr old boy take advantage of the sinners so he ended up sleeping with most of them while he was suppose to be helping them was a major ick for me. Also with how many memories he has of it and etc how the heck young did he start acting like that?? Just gross and not how I’d ever picture Jarod be as Adam. And a few other ways he was made to act and treat others. Not a fan. But Leigh/Naya was perfect and basically herself between both books. And either way happy to see their happy ending and the law changes.
