"You are our only hope"
Hey guys, so I finished Nightblood by Elly Blake, which is the third book in the frostblood series, and I think the last? Anyway, I breezed through this novel because it was easy to read. Little unnecessary descriptions, dialogue, smoothly dropping into the story and figuring out what was going on. Of course by now you are already familiar with the characters and their situation and their future direction. It is just a question how everything will unfold. ANd it unfolded alright. The last bit of Ruby's journey was alright, had some danger, some romance, etc. But honestly...I think I was just reading it to see how everything ended. I was not truly invested. If I had been, I would have definitely cried or cared more. But I was just like "meh" and continued reading. NOw, I dont think this 'meh' attitude was from the book entirely. I think it was just me, waiting so long that I got detatched from the characters, and it was hard to reattach. It was a good book, do not get me wrong. Good story, good journey. But not mindblowing. Not pulse shaking, earth rattling...It could be, or it was, I just, could not experience that. There were some parts I really liked, mostly the one's involving the effect of powers and such, and when the characters raged at one another, lol. Other than that...it was just a story, there was not much character development or growth really, since that occurred in the first two books I guess. Of course, she doesnt end up with the guy I want. Because OF COURSE, that NEVER happens. I swear....why must I always get attatched to the underdogs and just hope they have a chance. UGH. So I am kinda pissed about that? But oh well, the author gonna do what the author is gonna do. So yes, nice enough story, the journey was fair. Not really that many twists and turns, but I do not think it was that kind of book. Least everything ends up how the author wanted it to end up, lol. Uh, I do not really know what else to say. Yes, Ruby struggles alot in thisbook with her self, thoughts, feelings, as usual. Kai deserved more page time but did not. Arcus was a protective dick. Not much else I can say...though Ruby with the darkness were some of the best parts of the book, tbh. **sighs** Okay, I might add more later...Remember, this is all my opinion, if you want your own, read the series. This book, compared to the first two books in the series, was a bit slow. It was focused more on feelings, thoughts and character conflict. I understand why it was build this way, but it just wasn't for me and I had different expectations after reading the first two books.

Buku terakhir ini lebih baik dari buku sebelumnya. Buku pertama lumayan seru, tapi sayangnya buku kedua kurang menarik jadi sempat galau mau lanjut buku ke tiga atau ngga. Untung tetap lanjut karena in the end, aku tetap suka dengan akhir dari cerita ini.
Sayangnya walaupun sudah baca sampai tamat, aku tetap belum bisa suka dengan tokoh "Arcus". He is too possessive. Yes I know he loves the MC 'too' much that's why he is being like that. Tapi terlalu lebay aja sih kalau menurutku. Mungkin dia terlalu dibutakan oleh cinta? XD
Jadi penasaran kira-kira akan ada kelanjutan dari cerita ini ngga ya? Yang lebih fokus ke si Kai.. :D
Anyway, I'm happy with the ending. Walaupun ada adegan-adegan yang mematahkan hati ini berulang kali, but it is all worth it. Semuanya survive kok. #fiuh

I've been waiting for the conclusion to this trilogy for a long time and it was exactly what I hoped it would be! The story was great and filled with action, but its core was the conflict within Ruby and the resulting dramas between her and Arcus/Kai. I felt for Kai for the most part, but I'd hoped he'd gotten the message earlier.
As for Ruby and Arcus, well, I've always loved their relationship and romance, and it definitely had some bittersweet moments. Still, as frustrated as I could be with them at times, I never stopped caring about them or rooting for their growth as people, and always ended up smiling at their fun, romantic banter.
The ending was really inventive and I enjoyed it a lot, though the final few pages seemed to wrap things up really quickly. Still, any minor gripes I might have did nothing take away the thrilling experience of reading this fantastic series. I'm honestly going to miss all of these characters, Ruby and Arcus in particular. I highly recommend the FROSTBLOOD SAGA to any young adult fantasy lovers, and anyone looking to read a great romance for the end of summer!

I was pleasantly surprised by how this series ended. Arcus and Kai play major roles in helping Ruby to free the Minax from her body and defeat Eurus. With several twists and turns, jaw-dropping revelations and a satisfying ending, fans will not be let down. A great fantasy series for those fans of Sarah J. Maas and Victoria Aveyard.
