I was so excited to learn Julie Kagawa would return to Nevernever with its magic and danger and eclectic characters. I’ve always been on Team Ash but I’ve always had a soft spot for Puck and looked forward to his story. Needless to say, I was not disappointed.

The story focused more about Puck’s journey as a character than the true threat to Nevernever. That isn’t to say there wasn’t a threat, but Kagawa’s greatest strength has always been her characters, and that is on fully display here.

She effortlessly blends in lore of the Fae with Puck’s past personality and current self. She creates a fantastic character drama with a new and old cast. I really enjoyed Nyx, the one person in the Nevernever who doesn’t know who Puck is, though I have to say that the bromance between Ash and Puck is still the highlight. Their interactions were my absolute favourite, especially as Puck warred with himself.

The setting and magic are fantastical and unique, and I truly felt like I were immersed in the story. Despite being more of a jumping off point, I did find myself invested and curious as to what this new threat is, and who might be behind it. There are lots of questions, new parts of the fae lands that I’ve never seen before, and I hope there will be more adventures with this memorable cast.

Definitely a must have for fans of the original series and lovers of Fae lore!

Eh...this was an okay book. Not bad, not good. It didn't leave that much of an impression on me. I did like Puck/Robin Goodfellow for the most part, I really enjoyed Nyx, but that was about it. I think I would have enjoyed this book better if I knew more about the other books the author has written in this same world, but no guarantees about that.

This book was such a treat, the original series has always had a special place in my heart. So finally getting a book in Puck’s perspective was great because he is such a good character, with his humour and personality. In this book the adventure continues with Puck, Ash and Meghan as they have to defeat another enemy. We get glimpses into the past from how Ash & Robin met and Robin’s past back when he was Robin Goodfellow of old. We also finally get to see more about how Puck became who he is and his true powers and get to see him in all sides of the mirror.

Excited to see where the story goes from here and hope for more action in the next book. I was however going to only give this book 3 stars in terms of how I felt story-wise but Puck as his own character made me bump it up to 4.

It has been a while since I've ran into Robin Goodfellow. So I was very excited to dive into The Iron Raven. Especially since it has been on my TBR for a year - exactly a year. After diving into this, I'll admit that things were okay. I liked seeing everyone from Julie's previous series but I was also really worried about Robin and the world.

The darkness throughout this definitely kept everyone on their toes - including me. I just kept hoping things were going to get better and that Robin would fight the evil that was lurking within him. It helped that the people who knew him the best could easily see that something was different about him.

I also really liked getting to meet Nyx in this. She definitely brought something different to the story and the world. I can't wait for their next adventure since Meghan's kid is now missing. I'm excited for the sequel but hate waiting at the same time.

So, in the end, I guess I'll just keep twiddling my thumbs until the next book lands in my lap.

I really enjoyed the Iron Fey series. Thus the reason I was excited to read this book in this new series. Robin Goodfellow aka Puck was featured in the prior novels and I liked him. So I was glad to see him be more of the main focal point character in this new book.

Ok, so the Puck in this book is not the joking one from the prior books. Yes, he does have his moments but readers also see a darker side of Puck. The addition of the new characters in this book are nice. Nyx is one of the characters that I am talking about. She challenged Puck and kept things entertaining. I hope to see her again in the future. Besides the new characters some of the old ones are back as well..like Meghan. It was nice to see her again.

While, I enjoyed this book, It felt like something was missing. However, I still read this book in a fairly fast speed and do look forward to seeing how this series progresses.

I was so looking forward to Puck one of my favorite characters getting a story of his own. It was so nice to get to read his story and especially the flashbacks and more history of Puck. I also enjoyed him teaming up with Meghan and Ash again. However this story really was a let down. It just kept repeating over and over the same Puck going dark but yet he didn't seem dark. The love interest was also a super letdown, Nyx is fine but not that exciting of a character and doesn't live up to Puck. Also I was disappointed in the "villain" of the story, it went down way too easy. I did enjoy it in the end but it could have been so very much better.

I really wanted to love this, but I just couldn't get into it.  The writing felt like it was intended for a younger audience, which is a shame because I really loved the beginning of the story.
