Quite enjoyed it.  I Dnf but that’s my style - once the characters are happy I don’t want to go through the third act breakup if it happens. But I liked the characters.

A lot of the sex stuff wasn’t my cuppa at all so I skimmed some

I loved most of this. It could have been a couple hours shorter by skipping a few rounds of both of their insecurities, which got pretty repetitive. Overall a good listen with good narration.

I enjoyed this one, it was exactly what I expected the reading experience to be like. A mostly fluffy and smutty (with a side of more serious) sports romance. My instinct is to call it a quick read but it's over 500 pages and I was called out for that last time, so what I mean is it was an easy read that felt like it went by quickly. I've been waiting for this story since book one in this series, possibly longer since many of her books overlap. Maeve and Asher have been best friends for almost ten years and end up in a marriage of convenience after making a marriage pact and later being in Vegas. She's an artist who just got a big job doing a mural for his hockey team's rink, and he's starting a new charity with her brother, so both decide to stay married for the optics. But he's been into her (and in denial) for a couple years, and she's more recently felt attracted to him too. Smut, falling in love, etc. etc. etc. The serious I mentioned earlier is that he deals with some mental health stuff (anxiety leading to obsessive tendencies) and I thought it was handled well. This book also set up the next one really well and we met the MMC for the last book. There was a hot second at the start that I confused which series I was reading because Helena Hunting's current hockey series has similar storylines, a group of girl friends, etc. and I enjoy both series, but I got there.

Maeve (h) and Asher’s (H) romance is officially one of my favorite friends-to-lovers of all time. It was touching, intimate and got me all in my feels. I also enjoyed the way the way consequences of their pact and Las Vegas night played out and impacted their relationship. It felt fresh and perfectly suited to them. The pacing was just right and made me root for them the whole time.

Ten years of friendship, through the highs and lows Maeve and Asher’s friendship serves as the foundation for their love story. Their shared history leads to an innate and believable connection. They truly cared for each other in so many ways and reminded me why, when done right, friends to lovers can be one of the best tropes.

Whether or not you’ve read the other books in this series Asher is a fan favorite and this book he continues to show us it’s impossible to not love him. He shows his commitment and loyalty in many ways throughout this book and we even get to see his commanding side (in the bedroom

Maeve and Asher have been best friends for a decade. After meeting at a grief support group they quickly become intertwined in each other’s lives as friends. At her older brother’s wedding (also besties with Asher) they make a marriage pact. From that point forward there’s some serious chemistry it just takes a couple year for that chemistry to be recognized as more than friendship.

The dirty talk is amazing. I love how she gets her groove back with art and the growth both characters experience. I love a hockey romance. The banter was on fire in this book. I was constantly laughing and in awe of the sweet romance. This was the perfect romance to start the year with. I can’t wait to read the next book.

I loved this story! I enjoyed seeing them go from friends to marriage of convenience to love. I also loved seeing the mental health representation and how that was navigated.
