Very good book. I read it in one go, I couldn’t stop reading. It made me feel very happy and it was very relatable as I’m a Nonbinary person myself! I would totally recommend this to anyone even if they are not trans themselves! <3

A lovingly illustrated graphic novel on self discovery, a journey of questioning and queer/trans identity. Really loved the illustration style and how the narrative flowed throughout.

This started out as a 4 star. It’s cute, lovely message, tells a story, but it was a little too “how to be your best non-binary self” at first…. And then I got to the chapter on choosing your chosen name, and this book transformed from a mere embodiment of a warm hug it promised to be, into feeling like an actual friend that held me, held space for me, and just let me exist in that hug; this chapter was so beautifully structured that it made the whole book an instant 5 star.

This book would have given me a gender identity crisis—but the joke’s on you, Theo. You can’t give me what I already have!

A cute, kind, thoughtful book about the author’s relationship to their gender. I liked that it didn’t try to tackle the subject of what gender “is” as opposed to “what it means for them.” (Quotes because I often find that short-form explanations of what gender means are often reductive and strange. Whereas talking about the role of gender in the author’s life just helps illustrate differences and similarities in our experiences. 🩵🩷🤍)
