These books are definitely getting to be a little bit too formulaic for me, which as I’ve said in previous of Brown’s books, if you enjoy that sort of thing and it doesn’t bother you too much then you’ll be absolutely fine with it. There’s just something about being able to see where a plot is going before it gets there which is off-putting.
I mean it’s clearly working for Brown so he’s probably not too bothered by it, but it’s just one of those things that I’m not sure will keep me interested for much longer.

Entertaining, absorbing as long as you're willing to skim the repetitive political parts, action-packed. This book doesn't think too hard, and it's improbable as all get out, but it's a lot of fun.

it was an abridged audio. may like it better reading a full version
I took this book-on-CD on a road trip (13 hours one way, 11 the other) and I thought I might keel over while listening to it. Dan Brown uses four sentences where one would do the job, and over-explains everything to the point where I want to tear my hair out or scream "GET ON WITH IT" a la the Monty Python boys. The plot itself was mostly interesting, but I forgot the cardinal rule of Dan Brown - whoever looks to be the bad guy, isn't. At least that kept me awake during the last leg of my journey! Also, the audio book itself was simply horrible. It was 17 hours long, and could easily have been 9 if the guy had just talked faster. And for the record: "NASA" is not pronounced "Nassaw"!! This book also contained perhaps the most ridiculous sex scene I've ever read. Ugh.
