Guys, please don’t be fooled by the beautiful cover.
I’m not sure I can form a coherent paragraph right now cause I am too annoyed so let me just list what I didn't like in bullet points.
-I didn't like the MC. Her sadness came across as fake to me and from her voice I felt that she’s a shallow person.
-The writing and the dialogue are too cheesy and sloppy and just...amateurish. There are also too many unnecessary caps-locked words. For example:
Which brings to the next issue:
-Flawlessly perfect boy who turns the MC literally into a puddle at first sight and she’s already saying stuff like he’s the-only-one-who-could-pull-her-out-of-her-sadness crap.
Ughhh seriously, girl??

One last quote:
Okay that’s it I’m outta here.

“He gently brushed my arms with his fingers, which melted a bit of my sadness.” – page 29
“He stole my breath for a moment, and then he smiled; making my heart flutter. How was that possible? I never thought I’d be able to pull myself out of this eternal sadness.” – page 29

The Plot. I thought that the idea for the book was quite brilliant, but the book wasn’t what I thought it would be like. There was a lot of loose ends that were left hanging at the end of the book and a cliffhanger that leads into the second book. While I liked the pace of the book, I felt like their were instances where the book got off track or places where it went by too fast. Also much of the book was very monotone and I felt like the emotions weren’t very deep or “believable” enough to really give the book any more stars. Otherwise I felt like the book was a fun read and I really enjoyed the twists and turns the book took. I loved how the author gave some hints on what was to come at the end of the book and I was kept guessing at what was to happen.
Emma. I liked Emma’s character because she didn’t automatically accept her surroundings, but she didn’t over dramatize her situation either. It was a nice balance that made the book more enjoyable. I really liked the characteristics that Emma was given. I felt like the attributes she was given complimented her setting and she wasn’t left lacking. I also really liked her interactions with the other characters and I felt that the way she saw herself was different from what everybody else saw.
Other. The other characters in the book were a little bit confusing. There was a lot of back and forth and I was never sure which character would act a certain way. I felt like they didn’t show a lot of emotion and wanted to get an idea of what they were going through and how they felt. Mostly I got a monotone vibe from the other book characters and was disappointed that there wasn’t a lot of heartfelt emotion.
Overview. All in all this book was a pretty fun read and I loved the twists and turns that were taken throughout the book. I was really surprised at the outcome of some decisions that were made and felt like the author did a good job of making this book a unique experience.

Angels among us
This was an unexpected fast and action packed story. I'm really loving this storyline - it is original. This is the first angel type of book I have read. I can't wait to hear more about what special abilities Emma will possess. I stumbled upon this book with kindle unlimited and it had the audiobook with it. I really enjoyed the audiobook that went along with the story.

I absolutely love this book. It kept me captivated from the first page through the last. It is well written, flows smoothly and is easy to read. Once I started the book I couldn't put it down. This applies to every time I have read the book/series. I have read this series at least 6-8 times in the past few years.
I love the characters. When we first meet Emma she is broken. Not only does she have some physical injuries but she is emotionally devastated. However, no matter broken she seems and feels she is so much stronger than anyone can imagine, herself included.
Cade is the perfect book boyfriend. He is kind, caring, compassionate, a protector and so much more. While I'm sure everyone envisions him somewhat different I have such a clear vision in my mind of what he looks like.
This book is so descriptive that you can picture every scene unfolding before your eyes. This book and series is full of mystery / secrets / intrigue / danger and so much more.
I highly recommend the book and series.

2.5 stars.
This book has every trope you can imagine in it. Except a love triangle which I kind of wish it did so something could have been interesting.

I should have listened to the low reviews before I started this because I'm mad at myself right now. If It is the first book that I have thought of using Audible's return policy for. So, where do I start?
It wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't for the most egregious error an author can make in my mind.
She didn't finish the book. She ended a chapter and thought this is long enough and I can make more money if I break it into 3 books. Before that it was bad for the sheer amount of stupid tropes but not 1 star bad. It was like the author was reading a list of story tropes and thought - how can I put them all in one book? But wait, it won't actually be one book because she did the WORST THING and DIDN'T ACTUALLY FINISH THE BOOK!!!!!! If I had a physical copy I would have thrown it at a wall or given it to the neighbors dog to chew, or thrown it in my gardener's wood chipper.
Spoilers to follow but seriously you don't need to read the book.
List of tropes:
Orphaned
Unknown powers that start @ 17
Cosmic insta-love that no one has ever felt before who is of course the hottest guy ever
And we find out it is against the rules!! Oh no, what ever will I do?
Yay, Secret compound X-men style!
With it's very own Professor X or in this case "Aunt"
Prophecy, really?
Stupid teenager that thinks she can hang with guys that she wonders if they are vampires, werewolves or assassins. Because she is going to save the victim from the creature(s) that almost killed her or die trying.
Aunt who gives in to her every whim
But wait! Your parents weren't actually your parents! I'm your mom but your dad's dead.
But wait! Your dad isn't actually dead and he just saved your life!
Secret mark that tells everyone who your parents are and thus who you are
Title of the book "quietly" slipped in (author saying, see how smart I am?)
Villain that becomes "like a god" and then leaves everyone alive saying "Next time you see me you'll all die."
Another (smaller) secret base because we can't take our "prisoners" into the X-men style mansion because of a special barrier.
A cliffhanger ending that is the end of a chapter not a fucking book!! We're under attack and super love boy is off to get reinforcements is not the end of a goddamn book. This is my biggest pet peeve. If an author sells an incomplete book they need to be upfront. Like the old serial novels. You knew ahead of time what you were getting. I will never read another book by this author. And I will get my $1.99 back. I would have given this book 3 stars if it hadn't ended this way. I could have handled and mocked all the other tropes in this book and I'm sure I've forgotten some, and I would have chalked it up to young adult pulp but I will not forgive an author that pulls an ending like this.

was hooked and read the whole book in two days. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good love story with action romance and a damn good plot. I can't wait to sink my teeth into the next book in the series.
Great story
Tons of action. Love the stories. Didn’t love how it goes back and forth between first and third person point of view.

Paranormal romance involving angels is the ultimate star-crossed situation in forbidden love. I never grow tired of reading these. It's the one rule that there is a very slim to none chance of breaking without severe consequences. I just get giddy inside when an author is able to convey the intense longing of the the couple while teadering on the line of impossibility.
Hidden Wings had a very awkward beginning. Emma wakes to find herself in a hospital after an accident that took the lives of both her parents. We know nothing of Emma's past or unknown future. She is an orphan with no other living relatives. I found myself heartbroken for this mystery girl and automatically forged a connection with her character out of sympathy. Less than 48 hours later, Emma finds out that she not only has a long lost aunt, but will be accompanied by escorts on the next plan to Alaska. Geez talk about a lot of changes in a short amount of time. For a second Emma comes off as bratty and ungrateful due to her response after hearing about her long lost rich aunt. But then again I chop that up to not really knowing much abut her character to really empathize.
The highlight of Hidden Wings for me was when Emma meets her lead escort, Kade, (A guy that makes her insides go haywire by proximity alone). From that point a host of other secrets hidden with her once safe world are revealed. It seems as if Heaven and Hell is counting down until Emma's 18th birthday. She may be the golden child of a prophesy . A madman immortal will stop at nothing to completely eradicate her kind. The ending was a hold your breathe moment of a cliffhanger. You know the kind like from the old black and white Batman show, where the host leaves you with a ton of questions like: Will Kade be safe? Will the Darklings breach the compound? Will she ever finish that discussion?
Hidden Wings later took me on a whirlwind journey of host guys, hidden truths, good and evil, and a whole lot of angels. I thoroughly enjoyed Hidden Wings.
