I have to admit… I am so happy I continued reading The Gilded One’s! I wasn’t in a YA/fantasy mood, but that quickly diminished as I read more and more.

This was such a great story. I definitely predicted a huge plot twist, but the story was still enjoyable to unravel. I highly suggest and look forward to reading Book Two soon.

I had some mixed feelings about this book throughout, but overall quite enjoyable.

I liked the feminism in this book and the world it was set in. The truth behind the deathshrieks was also interesting (in a good way).
However I felt that many things like the romance and the complete change in what Deka believed in at the end were extremely rushed and therefore felt pretty random and not convincing.
I‘m still planning on reading the rest of the series because as I said i like the ideas behind it and am also hoping that it will maybe get better.

I loved this book the second time. Loved this black feminist dark military fantasy! Fuck the Patriarchy!!!! Down with colorism! Down with imperialism! Book was a bit too long but still my favorite! I really liked the romance. Strong emotional ties with this one because of the mother plot. Can't wait for next book!
