Great follow up to Fourth Wing. I knew a lot of people said this one was much slower and harder to get through than Fourth Wing, but I didn’t find it to be! Sure, it was less action packed than FW, but still had great plot and gave a lot of background that was necessary to understand the revolution. It didn’t seem to lull that much, because even the less plot driven areas were informative and got you thinking about the meaning of things. I love how these books give subtle foreshadowing where you can tell something is important or you’re sus about something, but you don’t know ~why~ yet or can’t predict where it’s going to lead but know it’s something!

Like the first book a very engrossing and satisfying story. Clearly more to come. Personally the spicy scenes could have been shorter but I will not dwell on that . Looking forward to the continuation(s) to come.

This second book was a whirlwind. I say the story moved fast but the the rise to the climax of the story was slow. The cliff hanger left me wanting more towards the end. I was disappointed in the lack of character development though. By now Violet should have some kind of backbone and confidence.

This book was difficult to read. I loved the first one which was 5 stars. This book was so long and had so much going on but felt like nothing really happened. It did not have that wow factor the first one had. I still love the characters but this one was that awkward in between book that sometimes needs to happen. I plan to continue the series. 

Overall: 3.75 stars because I love the characters

I really love this series. Cliffhangers, witty, plot twists, occasionally steamy. I will be starting the third book soon. I must know how this story develops!!! I'm truly addicted.
