3.5*

There are two words to describe this book: disappointing, annoying. Very un-Sophie Kinsella like. Don't bother.

All I've got to say (and it PAINS me to say it) is if you have never read Sophie Kinsella do not (I repeat do NOT) start with this book. Just pinky promise me, okay? Okay.

Silly, but a quick, funny read!

Though I love the hilarious tone of Sophie Kinsella's books, this book fell flat as it became increasingly absurd and slap-stick, and had an ending I predicted from chapter 2.

Three stars. Fun and funny!

okay look this book was- is AMAZING. and I probably would've given it five stars except there were some things I didn't like/ is dissatisfied about

1. Fliss never *actually* explained what she was talking about on the call so Lorcan will never know he was actually good at sex

2. body shaming (quite a bit)

3. not so good stereotypes

4. the ending was.. look, I liked it but I felt like it changed too quick just like a 360

So, I read the first 100 pages and started skimming after that. Just couldn't get into it so I don't think it is fair to give it a rating. It was definitely a fluffy, chick lit book, but this one just wasn't for me. I guess I tried and I know now that I just need to stick to the hardcore stuff.

Normally, I'm a massive fan of Kinsella's novels; they are chick-lit for me. However, I found this book to be a really difficult read. I couldn't sympathize with the characters because basically, they weren't at all endearing, with the exception of Lorcan. The wit and humor that usually stylizes Kinsella's works was no where to be found and I didn't laugh or break a big smile once. The story was sadly disappointing and I was glad when I finished reading it.

Took me almost half the book to really get into the storyline but once I did, this was a great book that showed the funny side of love gone wrong.
