I liked the mood and the style but really nothing happened here and it went nowhere.

Although sometimes I can find the writing style and language confusing (I’m just not used to the style of the era) I throughly enjoyed this gothic novella!!

I've always had a soft spot for Olalla.

This is not a review, but I'm surprised to see so many people approaching it as a love story. Perhaps my memory is failing me but I'm very sure this wasn't meant to be read like that.

Olalla has an unnatural influence over the main character, as she's an unnatural being herself. Even the brother has some of that influence over the main character too, but less heavy for the lack of physical attraction. As I've said, it's been a while since I read it, but I had the impression that it had something to do with guilt if nothing else.
