Once again, the Ward family bring me to tears in the BEST way.
Floored is the third book in the Ward Sisters series, a spinoff of the Washington Wolves, and I honestly think may take the cake (so far) of the series. It was pregnancy trope executed in the most thoughtful, genuine way; and with British accents and soccer to boot!
Both Lia and Jude were compelling as individual characters, and absolutely swoon worthy and adorable as a couple.
And of course, bonus points to the cameos of our favorite over protective older brother and sister-in-law, and sisters. I cannot wait for Isabel's book (!!!!!!) and was reduced to tears by Logan and the Ward family's fierce love for each other. As usual.

QOTD: Hows the weather in your neck of the woods today?
My A: Rain, rain and more rain! It stormed all last night and now it’ll be raining all day. Perfect for snuggling up on the couch with a snack and a good book! I’m going to try and use this time to catch up on book reviews.
.
I’ve been itching to read a Karla Sorensen book for quite awhile now! I’ve had this one waiting in my Kindle Library for a bit so I figured I’d give it a go. While this is technically book number three in Kayla’s Ward Sisters series, I had zero issues reading this as a standalone. If anything, the little hints from the first two books just made me want to go back and read those as well!
.
This was a fun read. I really liked the easy chemistry between Lia and Jude. I haven’t read many surprise pregnancy books because they tend to be written poorly, but Karla Sorensen managed to bring this story to life without any of the cliche or cringe moments. There was a tenderness to Lia and Jude’s relationship that just makes you want them to work it out. Lia’s family is one big circus where you may be smothered with love or questions about your private life, most likely both at the same time. Growing up with six sisters and a brother I definitely understand Lia’s family and her deep love for them. There really is something about coming from a family that loves big and loves hard that makes your heart go goo. With Jude’s less than stellar family, I loved the idea of him finding a home in the Ward family! All in all, a super sweet read and definitely not my last Karla Sorensen novel!
.
When Lia meets Jude in a bar late one night, neither of them expect to see each other again. She’s in the UK studying for just a semester and he’s only in town for the night. They have one night of intense passion and that was it... Right? Wrong! When Lia discovers she’s pregnant, she knows she needs to tell Jude. But Jude has a secret of his own, he’s a professional football player. Between Jude’s crazy schedule, Lia’s school work and their newfound parentage, Lia and Jude find their connections run much deeper than just a fling. But she lives in Seattle and he lives across the globe. How can they ever make things work?

Feel good romance
As a Brit I normally cringe when Brits and Americans come together in books, but this was awesome. I love a good book about sports and Lia and Jude’s story doesn’t disappoint.

so disappointed because I was waiting for her book since forever, but this was boring, maybe it’s the one night stand trope or maybe it’s me, but their relationship is so rushed and nothing happens besides her pregnancy.
I loved the family moments tho and I loved the baby, that’s why i’m giving it 3 stars

Lia seems like the perfect mom even though she's been through so much with her parents.
I love that Lia knew that she and Jude had to take a break from their relationship because it wasn't developing in a healthy way.
*One of my pet peeves in books is when one person in the relationship does something bad that is toxic towards the other person being able to trust the other and they get over it really quickly and don't really work on their relationship*
Really rocky start but I'm so glad that they were able to spend the time apart from each other working on themselves to become better at being their true selves and not holding back from telling each other the hard parts of their lives.
