I love the Ward family, but this book was not my favorite. There was a fairly consistent feeling of distance and discouragement- for both of them personally, and in their relationship with each other. The story began with some really good chemistry between the two of them but, as time went on, they just seemed to get more and more distant. It left me with a sense of hopelessness at times, like they weren't even gonna try to make things work. Thank goodness it ended the way it did, finally feeling more like Ward Family story! There was enough goodness, both at the beginning and at the end, for me to rate this with 3.5 stars.

Well well well another emotionally stunted man from this author.
Honestly Jude wasn't half bad, mans just had shitty unsupportive parents and bottled up emotions. Him exploding on his parents wasn't even so bad. And I hate how they made it seem like he was in the wrong for how he reacted and bc he didn't tell Lia about his strain relationship with his family.
Lia got on my goddam nerves. Her being mad/upset with him bc she was put in awkward situations with his family as if her family or her herself hasn't put pple in awkward situations, it felt like a fucking reach. Also her wanting him to resolve his issues with his parents like just bc she had this amazing family not everyone does and sometimes being low contact with your family is best. I'm glad Jude called her out on her shit when she said they had rushed things and she didn't know anything about him like bitch how you expect him to open up when you haven't said shit about your mommy/abandonment issues. She was incredibly immature. Like when she got pissed at her advisor for giving her advice. Also why was Jude made to be the bad guy when she returned back home in tears, like she CHOSE to end things, she CHOSE to go back, all he did was respect her decisions and choices and he's the bad guy??? Like I said she was annoying as fuck.

I enjoyed this book. I like both a sports romance and an accidental pregnancy love story. I didn’t know this book was part of a series when I started it, but I have now ordered an earlier book about the female protagonist’s sister.
I appreciated that Floored started with the sex, followed by the romance, and then plowed through the emotional baggage of the main characters. I liked that Lia was a smart grad student who actually worked on her papers and I believed in her character’s search for herself in her work, her relationships, and her environment.
Ok, can I talk about the cover now?
Can we please please please please stop putting photographs of couples on the covers of romance novels? For one thing, have you ever seen a professional soccer/football player shirtless? Google it. Usually when there is a ripped manly man on the cover of a romance novel I’m like, please, no one looks like that. In this case, yes, professional soccer players are totally ripped, with well defined muscles.
This guy is a normal hot guy, but practically flabby in comparison to pro soccer players. The male protagonist, Jude, works out every day for hours. This man does not. Finally, I’m just being finicky, but is that white thing on his jeans a tag? Someone needs to photoshop that out. Sigh.

Here's a little story for ya. I saw this book in my NF when the cover reveal happened and I thought to myself, I NEED THIS BOOK! A message to the author to find out what PR company she uses so I could SIGN UP NOW. SO glad I did. These two were so smoking hot from the very first scene. I loved Lia and felt like the journey she embarked on not only changed her life but helped her heal. Watching her becoming not only a woman but a partner and mother was a journey I totally enjoyed traveling...and Jude, swoooooon, not expecting to be brought to his knees by the beautiful american during one impulsive evening was even more fun to watch. The demons that have held him captive being not only brought to the forefront but shown how to slay brought all the feels to this one. I surprised myself by tearing up while reading. Karla Sorenson has brought life, love, and heart to these Ward sisters and I am so excited to read the next one. xo
Loved this one. Loved that it happened in the UK.
