Ooh! This was a hard book to read because it was tense, hard, a sad story but I am deeply touched by this book even if it is only the graphic adaptation of the novel The Road by Cormac McCarthy. I don't think I will read the novel maybe see the movie.

Fantastic adaptation that did McCarthy’s Road great justice.
This graphic novel does an outstanding job recreating the feeling of the world McCarthy originally created. I was super impressed by the detail, despair, and humanity within the drawings. Because of this, this is a tough read - the world the reader steps into feels not only real, but imminently possible.

I would have loved if this novel were just a bit longer – I felt there were some important pieces left out that would’ve added value and context, including some that felt vital to me in the ending.
Overall, beautifully done.

Absolutely brilliant and devastating adaptation. I received an ARC of the English translation of this graphic novel from ALA and I read it in one sitting. The illustrations are gorgeous and haunting. The end indicates the book will be in full color but reading it in black and white I think just adds to the stark reality of the post apocalyptic world that Cormac McCarthy created in the original book. I can’t wait for others to get their hands on this when it releases in the US in September.
