It’s hard to describe this book. The first 60% is solid, the last 40% was insane, and not good insane. It goes from being a decent, well written spy fiction novel to a poor excuse for science fiction that is nonsensical and completely out of step with the rest of the book. It’s almost like he was writing two books and then couldn’t be bothered finishing them so he combined them instead.

This book was a tale of two halves first it was a spy novel and very exciting then it randomly turned into science fiction with terminator vibes. Completely unnecessary and very strange. Either write about one thing or another. That said it kept me reading and overall it was quite exciting and short chapters are easy to read.

This was so disappointing! After loving I Am Pilgrim, I had such high hopes and was let down by the worst plot twist of the century. If I had wanted to read a science fiction novel I would’ve. Literally most confusing plot twist ever.
