TALE AS OLDDD AS TIMEEEEEE
I enjoyed the book, however i am a little disappointed with how the story was being written. I feel like all the characters in the book had lost their character developments and personalities from the previous books.
I really think the three books are incredible! This last one was amazing and I loved the whole story.

A third book felt unnecessary. I don’t like who the characters turned into, and nothing I hoped would happen did. It was just disappointing.

A Vow So Bold and Deadly by Brigid Kemmerer wraps up the Cursebreakers trilogy with plenty of tension, emotional stakes, and shifting allegiances. I rated it 4.25/5 — not perfect, but still strong enough to keep me invested. I’ve been Team Rhen since book one, so even though I didn’t love his arc here as much, there’s still something about his complexity that held my attention. He makes some questionable choices, but maybe that’s part of what makes him so compelling. Noah also deserves an honourable mention — quiet but consistent in all the best ways.
I liked the overall sequence of events and thought the pacing worked well — it didn’t drag, and the stakes felt real. That said, a few parts felt a bit shaky or underdeveloped. The political tension between Emberfall and Syhl Shallow sometimes seemed to magically resolve itself without enough explanation, and certain character motivations felt glossed over, especially when it came to trust and betrayal. Still, I appreciated how the book leaned into personal consequences and emotional growth. It might not have been a flawless finale, but it gave me the closure I needed.
Emberfall is on the brink of collapse, divided between those who support Rhen as the rightful prince and those backing Grey, the true heir. Grey has given Rhen two months before he attacks.
As Grey’s deadline looms and the two nations inch closer to war, loyalties are tested, love is threatened, and a dangerous enemy comes back.
Overall, I enjoyed this one, the stakes were high, the action was intense, and the progression of the story kept me hooked.
There were a few characters that were pretty 'meh' for me, they did not take anything away, but they didn't add a whole lot either.
I will say, I did not enjoy this book as much as the second in the series, but I think it was a fine conclusion.

Okay, so this was a whirlwind with lots to debrief. I loved this series and it’s definitely going in my top five of the year (I’m not sure if I like it more than The Cruel Prince). Book one was fantastic and my favorite in the trilogy. I’ve heard the story Beauty and the Beast a million times but this hit differently. Rhen and Harper’s relationship I adored so much and Lilith was the perfect villain (not to mention, her name is so pretty.) I was very excited to begin book two. Book two was eh. I loved Grey but I lost interest in him and I was desperate for more of what Rhen and Harper thought about the situation. Lia Mara I really enjoyed though. Her chapters really captivated me and I loved reading them. Also, I didn’t fall for their relationship as easily because I was still so tied up in Rhen and Harper. The ending was good though! Book three was awesome, but some parts drove me crazy. I loved all four perspectives and how there was more Harper and Rhen than Grey and Lia Mara. I got to understand Rhen’s pain and why he did what he did. However, Lia Mara I hated in this book. She was petty, catty, and just painful to read about. I’m probably being catty about the fact that I like Rhen and Harper more and want them to have their ever after, but I didn’t like her “peace” approach and it just annoyed me after a while. Grey also changed and just the way he acted towards Harper made me a little angry. Again, I know I’m biased towards Rhen and Harper. Lilith though broke my heart. She was so evil but it made you actually question if she could be defeated. Awesome series, though and I’m glad I read it! (I brought all three for vacation and finished all three in about 8 days)
