I enjoyed this book much more than I thought I would. I am not a die hard Star Wars fan as most, but my boyfriend read this and requested that I read it to.
With that being said I did enjoy the premise and absolutely fell in love with the characters. This is definitely a book I will recommend to people whether they are fans or not, as the story is beautiful.
Full review will be up on my blog www.courtney2028.wordpress.com on October 10th, be sure to check it out!

One of the best books I have read this year and the best Star Wars book I have ever read.
Starting 8yrs into the Empire, follow to kids as they grow up and join the Imperial Academy and have their loyalties to friends, family, and superiors.
A few of the big characters make brief cameos however the point of view stays with these two new characters.
I never thought I would sympathize with victims on board the Death Star.

Lost Stars is the kind of Star Wars book you don't expect, but won't be able to get out of your head once you finish it. While I've been reading it for the past few weeks, it's been noticeable that during calmer moments my mind drifts away to the events of the book, and to the characters that inhabit its pages.
Set against the backdrop of the rise of the Empire and the Galactic Civil War, Lost Stars tells the story of Thane Kyrell and Ciena Ree, who are childhood friends that end up on opposite sides of the galaxy-spanning conflict. The destruction of the Death Star, Battle of Hoth and many more iconic events from the original trilogy are explored through the eyes of new characters with completely different perspectives compared to what we're used to seeing from Star Wars.
It's a dramatic romance-novel that at times feels like it just so happens to be set in the Star Wars galaxy. The focus is on the characters and how they learn and grow, but the important events in the universe are still of great impact. That balance is greatly done, and leads to Lost Stars being one of the most unique Star Wars-stories I've seen to this day.

I really enjoyed reading this book. As a long time Star Wars fan, this is the kind of story that should be told in the medium of a novel. It truly is the story of every day people and how they could join the rebels and the empire. It pull back a layer of understanding that I think is important, but there's no need to overly focus on in film. It gives a really interesting and needed insight into both how the Empire recruits and propagates its message to their people while also giving a beautiful friends to lovers to enemies kind of story that I didn't expect. I only wish it was longer. It was so character focused that it made me wanting so much more. I wanted to see all that in-between time.
