A solid In Death novella. It was so great to get to see Eve and Roarke give each other their Christmas presents. I did find the descriptions of torture to be pretty intense. The killer is identified immediately and usually I get bored when that’s the case but this novella was really suspenseful and compelling. Definitely worth a read, best read right after Holiday in Death.

I read this one out of order because I didn't realize there were novellas in between. This one takes place during Eve and Roarke's first Christmas as husband and wife but begins with a flashback Prologue all the way to the beginning as Eve met Roark. One of her earlier cases has re emerged to bring death and chaos her life.
I enjoyed this but have no doubt it would have been better if read in series order.

It was a cute, quick read on the glimpse after the previous book. I was hoping they would have some more after effects from the previous case, but I suppose that would be part of the appeal to see Dallas and Peabody back on their feet. Definitely some grotesque scenes, but overall a good depiction of a quick story in their world.
I enjoyed this short, but I wish there was more to the story! It was very fast faced, and gave a great interlude between Christmas and the start of the new year, but it all progressed really quickly.
I didn’t like this one quite as much as the others in the series, but it was still really good. I’m really glad that I got to listen to it
A faboo entry in the Eve Dallas futuristic mystery series, if you've never read any of the "Death" series, you need to find "Naked in Death" and start there. Written by Nora Roberts, likely the Queen of Romance novels, the mysteries are good, the villains are well written, and apart from Even and her paramour Roarke, the side-characters and secondary characters often make the story just as worthwhile as the protagonist herself.
It was a nice companion novella to the Holiday in Death book. It started immediately right after the end of Holiday in Death and ended on New Year's Eve. The downside of this book was only that I didn't get enough Roarke Action. Plus, being less than 100-page novella, it left much to be desired.
dark
fast-paced
Book 8 - A nice addendum to the series. I like how this starts off with us knowing both the killer and victims, which is a break from formula. This filled in some small gaps in the series as it is my first time reading it. Pacing is rushed here and there, but it is a short story.
This is basically a normal In Death book without the relationship sub-plots. It takes place immediately after Holiday in Death. I liked it as well as the other In Death books, but the bad guy was a little too easy to kill in the end.
