The first Emma Chase book I read, Tangled, I loved. I thought I'd found another good romance author. But then Twisted happened and it put me off some much that I got it into my head that the first book may have been a fluke.

Well, I am extremely happy to say that it definitely wasn't a fluke, because this book was even better than Tangled. My faith has been restored.

I loved both Chelsea and Jake and I absolutely adored the kids. They were all so perfect and amazing and hilarious that I don't even have enough words to describe how much I love them.

The story of the book was great and the narrative, as well as the writing, was as well. Especially the narrative though. Emma Chase is great with male perspectives. Her writing is very witty and super funny.

Few examples:

"You've gone way beyond the strong silent type and are approaching selective mutism. What gives?"

"Sorry, Cinderella, but the clock struck twelve. The coach has turned back into a pumpkin and it’s time to collect your glass slipper. I never pretended to be Prince Charming."

Overall, this book was adorable and hilarious and packed an emotion punch that had me blinking back tears. A must read, in my opinion. You really don't want to miss these kids or Jake and Chelsea's story.

I do believe this was my favorite beside Tangled. Emma really knows how to pull at the heart strings and add that die hard laughter. Loved it!

Jake was such a crass manwhore, and I really wanted to push his head into a wall during the third act conflict, but... I have to admit I was won over by how he showed up again and again for Chelsea and her 6 (yes, 6!!) nieces and nephews.

It was also fun to read a romance that was completely from the MMC’s POV, even if he was kind of emotionally stunted 😅. A lot of laugh out loud moments — my favourite was the Mommy and Me playtime, or maybe the similarities between legal defense strategy and sisterly squabbles. Quite a few emotional moments too, but through the lens of someone who has pushed down a lot of those emotions. Sebastian York did well on the audiobook.

You might be wondering why I even like this book, but I think Emma Chase can make me like anything…

Overruled was ok. This book is EVERYTHING. I love Jake's relationship with the kids. I pretty much smiled throughout the whole thing. Just.... *sigh I loved every minute of this book. Highly recommend!

dnf 15% can he just like not? like ugh. his entire personality is sex and i’m over it. get a more interesting defining trait and then we can talk. especially when it’s not even with the fmc like come on man. stop being a man whore.

Ahhh! This was so cute. I loved the single POV from the male - I haven’t read that before! The six kids were awesome and I loved the dynamic. The right amount of drama, tears (from me) and I laughed out loud too. This was playboy redeemed done right. Jake had redeeming qualities the whole time and was brought to his knees for Chelsea. Swooon. However, the third act felt a little forced and his inner thoughts didn’t seem to be explaining or working through things at all on his own. In the end, I really loved this.
