I have a terribly hard time trying to come up with a rating for this book. I feel completely torn. On the one side it was dark, really dark. Gav is cold hearted and the way he enjoys killing is disturbing... but still good to read.
Kat is a strange character. She has a lot od burdens from her past, is strong and yet weak at the same time.

I think my problem is that I felt this book didn't take one direction and stick with it. It starts out dark, with Gav murdering a professor and then locking Kat in the basement. But then it sort of changed. There's always the talk of Gav being this cold, cruel serial killer but in truth he "only" murdered one person in this book. All Kat has to do is offer him her body and he's good.
And how can it be that in between the murder and their confession of undying love only a handful of days pass? And why exactly should Kat fall for him anyway? BEcause he's hot? Because he can make her orgasm? Because he brings her dirty books? I couldn't connect to this on any level so at some point I found it hard to stay involved.

★ 5 Stars ★ Intense but Beautiful

WOW! I really enjoyed this book and read it in less than a day. This book is all those things I crave; dark, edgy, intense, beautiful, and sexy, all rolled together. I also think this book was very unique as I have never read a serial killer-erotic novel. It’s like Dexter meets Fifty Shades of Grey. Such a cool mix- one I won’t soon forget! In fact, I will be picking up a similar book by the author called Mine.

*Warning* this book is a dark, erotic romance. Some readers may be offended by the content. Some may not be able to see past that characters connection but this is why it is a work of FICTION. Fans of dark erotica will want to try this one out!

The Accidental Reader Book Reviews

To be honest, I don;t know what I expected from this book. I don;t know if I expected more violence, more abuse, more sex or just more. Despite the fact that Kat was an idiot and indecisive, I found myself enjoying this book a lot.

Meet Kat, twenty something university student, working at the local public library with her friend Jules. Kat in contrast to Jules, is simple, introvert and simple...or so we think. We get to know the background story of Kat as the book progresses. The author cuts to the chase pretty fast, when Jules dares Kat to kiss the first guy she will see in front of her...Gavriel.

I really wanted to like Gavriel a little more than I did, but something was missing.[ Lately, it seems that a lot of books miss something and I start to wonder about the quality of the books that I read.]
He was dar and disturbed and a total psycho with a dark background, pretty much the same as Kat's, but I think he softened pretty fast and easy.

There is a lot of attraction, pretty much since page 5, but despite all the tension there isn't anything huge there. It was kinda of insta love, for me at least, which I hate but the story progressed steadily. If that makes any sense. The annoying thing was that the days in the book seemed like they were the same. Same routine for Gav and Kat, only some actions changed and the conversations that were pretty interesting. Gav had some interesting ideas for what each person is and how he sees humans. Also, I don;t think I will see a doctor with the same eye again.

The characters were complex but Kat turned me off a lot with her indesicive character and what she thought she knew and what she didn't. She did not know if she pretended to like the murderer or not for pretty much 80% of the book. The story is told in alternative POV's which is awesome and something I L.O.V.E.

The writing was very good and the sentenced inviting and I really enjoyed reading this book. Some sentences and phrases seemed to repeat themselves over and over in both POV'S as well.
I don;t want to discuss the ending which was explosive and then a little weird and dump.

So, 3 stars for this good dark romance!! Hope you enjoy.

I don't mind a "killer" romance. Most of them are so unrealistic that it makes them enjoyable. This one was realistic. She is exactly what a man who would hold a girl prisoner would be looking for. It's nit hard to make someone who has been abused and longing for love their whole childhood be tricked into loving the bad guy. This was just not for me. Way to much like real life crime.

Wasn't great wasn't terrible. There's better captured/Stockholm books out there but there's also a lot worse. Dragged in some parts, was great in others

Different kind of dark

I enjoyed this story of Gav and Kat. There were times the story dragged a little and then seemed rushed at the end but overall would recommend if you like dark reads.
